I’m getting excited guys. I don’t think West Virginia can stop us. Maybe it’s the orange glasses and maybe we won’t be able to stop them either but I think this team is going to be hungry and show some people some stuff
Preseason polls are just for entertainment anyway. Hard to argue too much with it. Nobody knows anything yet. They deserve to be top 10 way more than WV deserves any ranking. The schedule is definitely weak sauce. Which is why I'd say start them off a little lower. They have the opportunity to move up.
At #8, it's like they got a head start on almost everyone else.
Yeah I've never understood the actual purpose of them. Predicting finishes? What they are right now? What they were at the end of last year?Preseason polls are just for entertainment anyway. I'm desperately trying to temper my expectations re: WVU. I do think they're incredibly overhyped, particularly considering their run game, DL, and secondary (particularly CB now). The game is going to come down to whether or not our secondary can stop them, or at least cause 2+ turnovers. I'm kinda worried about our pass rush, and if we give Grier all day to throw, I don't know how we don't get picked apart. I'm thinking both teams score in the 30's. We lose if they hit 35.
If we can run the ball and control TOP, it will be hard for them to score 35.
I just hope we have the hosses to impose our will on them and make them play Pruitt's style of ball and not theirs.
I don't think we can hang in a shootout.
I’ve said it a few times but he doesn’t look good with the extra weight. I guess he can still improve but some guys just lose explosiveness when they put on weight. His sophomore film at a lighter weight looked really good but after he put on weight, not so much.Simonton said Emerson is at the very bottom of the pecking order for DL. Just shows that rankings miss
We have next to no shot in a shootout IMO. In a perfect scenario I'd like to see Chandler, Jordan and London run the ball between 35- 45 times combined, take care of the football on offense, keep our defense fresh, and break their will in the 4th. Looking forward to it.If we can run the ball and control TOP, it will be hard for them to score 35.

I'm not sold on JG yet. If he can get rid of the ball and not take sacks like last year ,then yes, we can probably score pretty easily on them.Granted, we only scored 28 in regulation, but Georgia Tech dominated TOP 2:1 against us. I don't think we grind away 40 minutes of clock time, especially with an OL that's improved but not arrived yet. I think the only way they don't score 35 is if they turn it over.
I hope so too, but I don't see it in Game 1.
And this is where I disagree and turn positive. I really liked JG's arm in the O&W game. I like Chandler in space. I like our receivers and I think we're enough of an unknown with enough talent at each position on offense to keep their not-great defense flatfooted and guessing.
