I knew Callaway (6'2 200 lbs), JJ (6'3 221 lbs) and Tillman (6'3 213 lbs) were all big receivers but I don't think I realized how big some of the other guys were. Palmer and Brandon are both 6'2 and 201 lbs and 189 lbs respectively. That's 5 guys that are solidly in the rotation over 6'2 and only one of those 5 is under 200 lbs. Even Jordan Murphy (6'0 177 lbs and Byrd (5'11 and 200 lbs) are decent size for WR. Our size at TE may not be where we need it yet, but man that's a big group of WRs. Hopefully they eat a lot of peanuts this year.

i think everyone's skeptical, to some degree. i've not seen anyone take a positive difinitive stance on richmond. lots of "hopes, thinks, wants, needs......." don't recall many "he will" or "he is" statements about him made in a positive or optimistic light.
Some on here wake up skeptical about waking up.

lol.

but really, is there any other to be regarding this team? there's so many questions, it's hard to imagine we'll get all the right answers.

maybe skeptical isn't a good word choice cause of the "doubtful" nature of the word.

i just think it's fair to have questions about this team. they do exist. some won't go our way, some will. no one knows for sure which will be which at the moment. so take everone's comments with a grain of salt. even the biggest eyores out there, once you disassemble the pain and suffering from the comment, generally are talking about a legitimate question about this team. lol.

Yes, sir. I feel really good about UTs receivers, this year. That's one of the reasons, I wouldn't mind it if Keyton is the only one UT takes in this recruiting class.

I'm starting to believe our passing game will lead to a win over WV. WV's biggest weaknesses are obviously on defense. They just lost another DB for the UT game and they couldn't afford that. Plus, the DL will be relying on 2 grad transfers, not that there is anything wrong with that. I just think they will have some growing pains there. I'm expecting JG (yes, I'm 90% sure he will be QB1 to open the season) to have a career day throwing the ball. I know, that's not saying much, so far in his career.

Vols 34, WV 27. JG - 3 TDs and 250 passing yards

Nieds needs to work on DWAs stance. My goodness that is the most awkward stance I've ever seen

Trey is going to wreck fools.

After being brought along slowly the last two weeks, Smith was back with the main group that also included Riley Locklear, Brandon Kennedy, Ryan Johnson and Drew Richmond. On the very first rep I saw, Smith shoved 6-foot-5, 322-pound freshman Jarious Abercrombie onto the turf. Safe to say, Smith was ready to hit somebody.

Now, during team periods they could switch things up and Richmond could go back to left tackle and Smith slides inside, but that didn’t happen during individual periods today. Notably, Jahmir Johnson saw reps at both left tackle and left guard. He did several combo reps with Smith at LT and Johnson at LG. K’Rojhn Calbert was also at left guard, with Jerome Carvin at right guard. Chance Hall was also taking reps today. Per usual, the entire period was NSFW, with Will Friend getting all over his unit.

*** Working in the pit: Cornerback Kenneth George, linebacker Darrin Kirkland Jr. and offensive linemen Eric Crosby, Marcus Tatum and Devante Brooks. Tatum was able to do some individual work. Also when we were leaving the field, Kirkland was jogging off to join a team period.

*** The QB/WRs routes on air period was about the same as usual Tuesday. Some nice throws mixed in with some drops and airmails. Both Jauan Jennings (who wasn’t wearing a single wrap or brace on his knee today) and Marquez Callaway looked good, though. Drops I saw included Josh Palmer, Brandon Johnson and Maleik Gray.

*** The defensive line was split into two groups Tuesday: One working with Tracy Rocker and the other working with the GA. Rocker’s group included Phillips, Tuttle, Johnson, Gooden and Harris, the lone freshman in the group.

*** Phillip Fulmer was at practice with noted Tennessee donor John ‘Thunder’ Thornton.

That was awesome. "Get down here and start like you're fixin' to play footbaw"

And, "The way we play, we gon' get beat sometimes, aight. But we gon' get beat playin' MY technique."

Both of those quotes addressing DBs.
yeah, i liked both of those too.

starting sound "ho hum" around there now.

i think that's a good thing.

Tennessee took the practice field on Tuesday for yet another fall camp session. It was their first open portion of practice since Friday, but they scrimmaged on Saturday and practiced on Monday as well.

The Vols were back in full pads on Tuesday, and it was a windy and cloudy afternoon. But UT’s players were feeling it on Tuesday, and there was a spirit in the air that football is nearly here.

But muh mehlen

The tweet mentioned the number of 4/5 star recruits. Let's break it down this way: In the top 300, Mullen has committed #42, 205, 221, 252, and 298. Pruitt has committed #7, 117, 167, 194, 203, 224, and 247. So, 7 of our 8 are in the top 250. 3 of their 9 are in the top 250. Mississippi State has more commits in the top 300 than Florida does.
