Thanks. I would have a hard time disagreeing with any of their 2 deep on offense or defense. Seems pretty likely to be accurate.
it doesn't get talked about as much as the qb competition, but there's at least as many differeing reports/opinions on where smith will line up, guard or tackle, and how that decision affects the other spots, aside from Kennedy, on the OL.

If JG does start and does play well...You are going to look really bad. Your constant crapping on him is the major reason I am so down on the offense.

I don’t care how i look lol. I’ve thought a lot of players here aren’t very good before just like you have I’m sure. I will gladly be wrong. I was wrong on josh Malone. I wasn’t crazy about him early on.

I think 247 was right. Trey at LT and Drew at RT. I agree Trey's best position is G but our options at G behind him seem a lot more ready at this point than at T. So I think that gets our best 5 on the field. I'm pretty comfortable with them picking 2 of Locklear, Carvin, Ryan Johnson or Calbert at G. I'm less comfortable picking one of Jahmir or Tatum at T at this point. Maybe they can switch later in the season when those two may be more ready, but right now that would be my choice. And I'm assuming that as of the first game, Drew is one starter at T (either right or left depending on Trey being G or LT) and that Hall isn't ready yet.
see that makes sense too. you do have options inside if Smith is LT, and it puts drew in maybe a better position to succeed at RT.

the downside to that is, if smith or drew get hurt, we're screwed unless hall gets back quick. like you, im not sold on tatum at tackle and jamir, as much as he may have impressed, i don't think is ready yet either.

aside from the qb battle, this is defintiely, imo, the most interesting, and important, decision they probably have to make.

Florida in September is traditional. You don't move the Third Saturday in October. So move UGA since they're not really a traditional rival.
Recent tradition? Wasn't always in Sept. Georgia is a more traditional rival than Florida. Nobody gave an ish about florida til spurrier started coaching there.

Was he a starter?

Left Cornerback Jake Long (5’11” 194-lbs) Redshirt Sophomore
Jake has been waiting for more playing time and coming into his third year might be his best opportunity to receive it. He was primarily used on special teams last year and saw most of his playing time on defense within the first two games.

Being in the program for three years he understands the defense, and this could get him in the right position to make a bigger impact this upcoming season.

I actually think Tatum and Jahmir could emerge eventually but at this point, yeah the 4 G options seem more ready. And yeah, Trey at LT helps the whole line by getting Drew in his better position shoring up both T positions while losing less at G than you would at T if Trey plays G. If Trey or Drew get hurt we're probably not in great shape no matter where Trey is playing. haha.
I agree this is the most interesting and important decision and probably has been the whole time, just not as glamorous as QB. But I do think we have some good options and are way better than we thought we'd be in Feb or even July.

Two of Johnson/Carvin/Calbert.

I’m not saying it’s how it’s going to play out and maybe Richmond plays well and the lights come on. I’m just saying I won’t trust it until he proves it over multiple weeks.
there's two things we know about the O line. Kennedy and Smith are going to be pretty good.
and maybe we fell good about Jamir, R Johnson, locklear, tatum and clabert. and we have hope for hall.

i totally agree, that whichever way Richmond goes, will say a lot about how successful the O line is this year. cause if he is good, then that settles things down quite a bit, and you can have some flexibility wtih the rotation from those other 5 guys.

Nobody cared about UGA until they came close to tying up the overall record. I only remember Florida being a September game

Neither one of them are an elite level edge rusher like Barnett. They live off of the pocket collapsing from the middle.

You can say that again

At first I disagreed.

Then you made some valid points that made me start to reconsider.

Then you really hit the nail on the head and I am in complete agreement with you now. Great debating.

Screw schedule date tradition I want to win. I can understand bama but the rest needs to be sorted out better.

Hahahaha, you should know not to listen to Hank. JK. He may be right, I just think that we have a little flexibility and that gets our best 5 on the field.
