i might disagree on the "even" part as well. but i do think MSU has the QB and enough in the trenches to give them a shot against anyone not named Alabama. MSU's d line should be pretty darn good this year.
They do have a good team no doubt. I guess on year to year basis I would rather play MSU and not Auburn.

Antonutti was going to RS, anyway. He had health issues last spring, came in this summer 10 lbs under his target weight and the coaches told him they couldn't play him until he added some weight. Sucks that he's having more health issues, but it doesn't really affect our depth.

That was the whole point of the farcical "investigation." Give everyone the impression OSU is doing something while the media and public forgets about it and moves on. They had to give it enough time to die down, but not so much that it affects their preseason too much. That's why they gave it that weird two-week deadline.

The only way this goes the other way is if the public jumps on it like they did Schiano. It doesn't look like it's going to.

Miss St and Auburn are about even to me. And I’d guess if the metrics are based solely on talent that LSU and Alabama are pretty close - although we all know we’d rather play LSU.

I guess our three cupcakes really drag us down on the metrics.
Our 3 cupcakes are as bad as it gets; but, that 5 game stretch we have, no one in the country is playing anything like that, Phil Steele metrics or no Phil Steele metrics.
I like Miss St a lot, but I'd much rather go to Starkville, after going to Athens and before Bama, than go to Auburn, who may have the best defensive front in all of college football.

i know right? that's also why i think MSU has a shot down there. MSU's defensive front is no slouch. that could be a slug fest. low scoring, and mistakes/turnovers be the difference maker. i think that could be a great game to watch...if you like defense that is.

To the surprise of no one. People will rejoice because he clearly did what he was supposed to. I mean, he reported it to his boss. That's all he HAS to do. Never mind that he was putting his hands on his wife in front of their children. This is akin to knowing a child is being abused and calling DCS and then shrugging your shoulders when nothing is done about it.

Yep, exactly. The controversy at Maryland also could not have come at a better time for them.

Christian McCafferey. Trenton Irwin. Kaden Smith.

They have 2 five star tackles, 2 four star TEs, and 2 four star WRs that were all rated higher than Bryce Love. And 2 more 4 star guards. And that's just offense. I agree we probably have more potential, but you cannot tell me he had no talent and especially that he wasn't in a far better situation to succeed the last 2 years than JG was last year. Yer bias is showing again. And before you say it, yes I have bias too. But I don't claim not to have bias. You claim you don't.

Christian mccaffery wasn’t there last year...he was with the panthers.
And what is so special about kaden or Trenton?

Trenton Irwin could barely get off the Line when they played USC. His season high was 52 yards lol. Is that really the studs your defending?

But if you want to go the star rankings route we recruiting better in 2014,2015,2016 which would be most of the players each QB was playing with. And in 2017 we were like two spots behind them.

But even still The whole point was just that Tyler ivens literally couldn’t name another player on Stanford’s team but so banging the table about how loaded they were. Aka he was just talking out of his arse.

Totally agree... this isn't the SEC, oSu is standing out there with their arse hanging out in the wind and don't know what to do... they are on auto-pilot with urby and don't want to start over again with a new coach...
Sad that they will push this aside and act like nothing happened so they can keep their roll going, instead of doing the right thing and letting karma finally catch up to this dude and make him pay the piper. I really think Meyer is a bad dude that has never gotten caught. He even skirted a bad coaching run by faking health issues, NM what he let slide every day at FL, all the while hiding behind the Tebow facade ...

If OSU really, really, really feels the need to appear somewhat contrite, they could suspend Urbie for a few games-- not more than four. Penn St is waiting there Week 5.
I'm still trying to figure out how he and his wife were so close/involved with Smith & his wife when they were having their initial marital problems back around 2010, supposedly helping counsel them. But when he was beating the snot out of her a few years later, Urbie his wife were supposedly completely in the dark.

The inconsistencies are ridiculous.

None of that matters i am afraid i was right on this one but wanted to be wrong.

They're having a hard time keeping their own stories straight. His wife knew-- no plausible deniability there-- and she said she was going to have to tell Urbie, who denied it... then denied denying it... then admitted that he did a bad thing in denying his denial. But no matter. A one-game suspension should show remorse. Make that two games-- they play Rutgers Week 2 and the Meyers could have a longer vacation.
