so given what appears to be at least some turmoil at LSU, with two qb's transferring out, does anyone think that may open the door with some guys that are either comitted or leaning to LSU that we want...guys like say, Hampton?

I'm not sure if there's actually as much turmoil as 2 QBs transferring normally indicates. They brought in the transfer from OSU, who is now in line for the starting job. One of the QBs was a senior so it makes sense he would leave for his last season.

The RS freshman is puzzling, but QBs transfer so much I wouldn't put much weight behind it unless we see others start to follow.

*** As I posted on the board a short while ago, Trey Smith was repping exclusively at left tackle during individual work. He was in the same group with Jerome Carvin (LG), K’Rojhn Calbert (RG) and Marcus Tatum (RT).

Interestingly, for the second straight day, Drew Richmond, who refused to answer my question about playing right tackle earlier this preseason, was working at that very spot. The redshirt junior was in the same group as Jahmir Johnson, who was at LT, Riley Locklear (LG), Brandon Kennedy (C) and Ryan Johnson (RG).

*** During the single period, the quarterbacks and tailbacks were working on mesh point/handoffs and then later routes out of the backfield. The wideouts were in individual in a drill focusing on locating the football. Jauan Jennings was out there but taking minimal reps. Jordan Murphy was routinely making one-handed catches. The tight ends were in a run blocking drill, with multiple coaches shouting about increased physicality.

*** Defensively, the position changes from Tuesday remained, as Dillion Bates was still with the ILBs and Kivon Bennett worked at OLB.

*** Darrin Kirkland Jr. and Chance Hall were working with the S&C staff for the second consecutive day. We’ll have to ask Jeremy Pruitt about their current status (especially their prospects at playing in Saturday’s scrimmage) later this evening. Also working on the side was backup o-linemen Devante Brooks and Eric Crosby, tight end James Brown and defensive back Sam Harvin.

*** Greg Emerson was working at nose tackle for multiple reps during DL drills.

*** Shawn Shamburger remains with the safeties during individual periods.

Yer welcome. I really think Sapp is gonna be one of our best players this year. He was pretty productive last year, 4th on the team in tackles (78) and TFL (4), and as sad as this stat is, 5th in PBUs (2). He looks to have really taken to the new S&C and position coaching, so I think he is gonna have a breakout year. And if he's the guy that comes in with Bituli in nickle, that is probably gonna be our most used formation so he will get plenty of opportunity. As far as Ignont, he seems to have a lot of talent but if I were to guess who Pruitt was talking about quitting in the spring game was, he would be the first name I said. He just didn't look like he was trying at all. And the fact that we never hear him talked about leads me to believe he's not really making an impact this fall either. I could be wrong though, and he's just a sophomore so he's still got plenty of time. He's probably good for depth this year and hopefully develops into an impact player in the next couple years. He definitely should have redshirted last year. I don't think losing his six tackles total in six games would have made our season any worse.

Yeah, Sapp has finally been healthy for an extended period, so I expect him to shine this season. I hope Ignont is not a waste considering his measurables, but he may step up, who knows--- heck, some kid named BATES is still hanging around handing out Gatorade on the sidelines, so there may be hope yet!

i wont' be surprosed if Carvin doens't start. sounds like the competition at the guard spots is going well. no doubt he'll likely be in the 2 deep and see the field plenty.

I'm guessing someone that I've ignored (and, if I've ignored them, it's a safe bet that a LOT of people have ignored them) got a bunch of you riled up. I make that observation to highlight a Volnation v 2.0 phenomenon: temporarily schizophrenic posters.

You see, to those of us who have the poster ignored, you all start replying and it seems like you might need a psych evaluation. Case in point, here is what I saw from several posters (with no visual evidence that they've quoted someone else):

@VolGee4 : Because Rick Court would throw things at the players if they didn't play through it.
@jakez4ut : yeah, to get even money on both sides of the line
@drvenner : Wait, if you throw out the bone, how is it a bon......never mind.
@Sleegro : Is there a team we could say something negative about that you wouldn't get upset about? You have no issue saying negative things about us, but if we ever say anything negative about anyone else you get real butt hurt.

Like I said, it's an amusing new phenomenon, as all of those statements (with no context of what or who they are replying) seem mentally unstable! (I know y'all aren't, that's just how it looks to a bunch of us that have the user y'all are responding to ignored)

What I picture when I see those posts now...

I wouldn’t be surprised if Hall or Tatum beats out Richmond at RT either.
i might be if it's Tatum. Hall, i'm with ya. he gets back in to full football shape, i could see him doing that.

of course, i'd be just fine if DR would just live up to and be that 5* guy we thought we were getting to begin with . i do get the feeling it's now or never for him.

YouTubeTV is great IMO. Has all the local channels, a ton of sports channels (4 espn options, SEC Network, BIG10, PAC 12, 6 FOX sports channels, really hard to miss any college football games and can use 6 devices at once for $39 per month. The only thing is my wife misses HGTV, they don't offer it.
Does she have to watch it live?
I just clicked on their homepage and could basically view any show they have as a rerun. Didn't even ask me to download an app.
Or you could just remain quiet and get out of watching design makeovers, just a thought 🙈
