The Atlanta Braves

He made it fun again, though
Never understood this thinking. If the exact same tournament unfolds and someone else, hypothetically Rory, does exactly what Tiger did is this somehow less fun? I wish it would have come down to a more exciting last two holes but this was so much fun to watch regardless of the person who happened to finish in 2nd place.

Can’t really explain it, man. Something about Tiger being in there. I don’t think there will ever be another athlete that electrifies a sport like Tiger did and still does.

No one would have watched it so I can’t answer the fun level but almost assuredly no.

The Babe Ruth of golf is literally happening before our eyes and was on the brink of one of the greatest comeback stories in sports history. The casual observer is going to find that interesting.

Never understood the obsessive fan love for one player who has a long career of making it abundantly obvious that he, at best, is annoyed by fans and, at worst, despises them.

The guy literally has made it a point to thank the fans repeatedly in the last couple of hours.

But...I get that he's done some things that make it easy to dislike him. Yet, surely you can see where him being in the mix adds a layer of intrigue and makes things interesting.

After the round is over. Just today he was shown multiple times walking by and not acknowledging anyone in the crowd. Later, as Koepka is walking from 17 green to 18 tee to cement a major victory he is high fiving everyone he passed by. I’m not saying every player has to act that way but I just don’t get the way fans want to love the guy who doesn’t. I wasn’t around personally to see it but it’s the same conversation that I’ve read about with Arnie and Jack. Jack was better but Arnie was beloved because of how they interacted with the galleries.

Again, to me, if it’s Rory it’s not any less intriguing but I realize I’m the anomaly.

Woods and his fans are all getting old now. Nostalgia is a powerful motivator. Same as when Nicklaus won the Masters at age ~45 and every man in America over the age of 30 lost his **** over it.

That Hamels/Maddon convo when he told Hamels was done for the night was pretty cool
