Give me a break! He knew exactly what he needed to do be eligible for this fall. You don't think Propst along with Tennessee's staff have been giving this kid "guidance" over the last few months?
Bituli, DKJr, Sapp, Ignont, Kongbo, Taylor, DeAndre, Smith and Allen say, "So". As long as he enrolls and doesn't go somewhere else, we need him more the next 3 or 4 years than we do this year. I am not worried about our LBs if he can't contribute this year.At this point even if he does make it in it will take him a while to get up to speed and know what to do in situations etc..
I wouldn't think we would see him in meaningful game situations until South Carolina or so
This^ Great year to assimilate. Kirkland decision becoming another Pruitt recruiting win.Bituli, DKJr, Sapp, Ignont, Kongbo, Taylor, DeAndre, Smith and Allen say, "So". Last few months? Absolutely. Maybe lack of guidance previously had gotten him in a hole that was hard to climb out of??
Look, if you don’t think guidance or lack there of (parental especially) affects kids as they go through life I don’t know what to tell you.
The same way that all good HS players do who struggle academically. They get by with the minimum and probably have some "help."Then how in god's name has this kid managed to stay eligible to even play high school football? We're talking about not being able to meet the minimum just to be eligible to enroll and play at Tennsessee, how did he do it for 4 straight years of high school?
How do you know HE'S NOT a "special ed" kid with a learning disability, do you know him personally? You seem to talk a lot bs about him like you do.Then how in god's name has this kid managed to stay eligible to even play high school football? Some of you want to act like he's a "special ed" kid with a learning disability.

Oh I wasn't worried about that just pointing out there shouldn't be any lost sleep over it at this point. If he gets here this year great...I would hope he can play in the last 4 games if he does and get a redshirt and be good to go next year.Bituli, DKJr, Sapp, Ignont, Kongbo, Taylor, DeAndre, Smith and Allen say, "So". So, if you were HC of UT, you would take Brant Lawless over Brandon Kennedy (who is going to start at C for us for the next 2 seasons), since Kennedy took his spot whenever Lawless couldn't get his own academics in order; or possibly JJ Peterson, who will take the only spot Lawless could have had? In this situation, it's a simple yes or no; because even if, and that's an IF, JJ doesn't make it, he was worth ALL the risk, and I believe that most everyone here would have taken it, and would have been right to do so.
I'm not sure, TBH. Lawless didn't have his academics in line to be able to enroll when he was suppose to.I’m not caught up on the Lawless situation but if he had academic issues then how did he get enrolled at UNC? Are requirements for athletes less than what is required here? From an academic standpoint I though UNC was tougher to get into?
Wrong again. My point is, if a kid is smart enough to retain a major college defensive playbook, recognize opposing offensive formations and adjust accordingly on the fly, there shouldn't be anything wrong with a kid's ability to learn in the classroom. At that point it just comes down to the kid caring enough to make it a priority to do what it takes to pass.
