Did you read the article? He put it out there. He takes no personal responsibility for his downfall. Toots his own horn for all that he perceives as good. Blames other things for his failures. Miss characterizes the reasons fans were upset with his departure. He's the same ole Lane Kiffin.I also don’t think it’s fair to assume or imply he’s not sincere in his spiritual relationship. Especially when you don’t know the person.
I don't think it something they have to do. I don't see a ton of other coaches using religion as a platform for recruiting. If it's genuine it doesn't matter. Most people look at actions rather than words. Many don't though.I just think it’s something coaches in the south kinda have to do. I don’t mean that they’re all disingenuous, but there are definitely some who do it as a matter of keeping up appearances. If a coach in the south was openly non-religious he’d get murdered by negative recruiting.

You have to remember, in today's world words = action for some bizarre reason. I think the rise of social media had a lot to do with it, but people don't look at actions anymore. It may also have something to do with the saying "the pen is mightier than the sword", but who knows?I don't think it something they have to do. There are fine lines between faith and skepticism. I get questioning someone’s faith can be a touchy subject, but if you don’t allow any room for skepticism you can find yourself in Jonestown drinking flavoraid.Skepticism can be useful and it can also lead astray to the point of only believing in what one knows of the natural world around us. Even in that state it is not our role to judge another's experiences as genuine or self serving. His/her actions will reveal the motives in time. I choose to believe Lane Kiffin is maturing into the man after God's own heart. He just started down that path and he is human. Changes occur over time as faith grows. I will never know all that he may or may not be doing to deliver a message of hope to others since I am not there with him. I will just continue to pray that it is real and effective in helping others as he states.

It’s perfectly fair to question how genuine someone like Kiffin who has a track record of being disingenuous for his own gain.
