Vols Practice Thread #3

Our 1st team sounds pretty good when you read it aloud. Though, depth on both lines is still a big issue. I think our LBs and our DBs are being a bit underrated right now. And it still remains to be seen how well the D transitions to running the 3-4 once we're matched up against elite SEC offenses. Still, I can't help but to be a little optimistic and wear my orange-colored glasses.

D wins games. I think you're right about depth. We need a rotation on that line so we're not getting pushed around halfway through the game. I'm thinking the LB depth will pick up some of the slack. There is a lot of potential with this team. I guess we'll get a good look come Sept. 1st! 😁

It's only the third practice and we aren't even in full pads yet, but things seem different with this staff so far, imo. Will that translate to SEC play? Who knows.

But like Bigdaddy alluded to, we've seen positive things in spring before that didn't show in games. For now, I'm choosing to believe that we will see a more physical, more fundamental team that plays true Tennessee football this year. I'm an admitted orange-glasses-wearing homer, though. lol.

I would love to see analysis by position from someone who actually played that position at a high level. I only have a general perception of how players look, but don't see the details at all like someone who has coached or played the position. These clips are great though, starting to feel like Football Time in Tennessee! Already upping my win count, can't help it. You have to believe in the VOLS.

I honestly just think the way we practice now is a big indicator on how much better this team will be.
