Yes i do. I think we have some block eaters that will help against the run. I think bituli and ignot are good against the run too. I expect warrior to be a box safety too (a little like Troy polamalu played).

I just don’t see that dynamic pass rusher which is so important in today’s football. You hope it’s kongbo which will be playing a roll similar to Aldon Smith with the 49ers. But I’ll bekirve it when i see it.
Whenever you do bekirve it, let me know so I can watch. 😁

That's nice and all, but Rocker can't suit up for us and Phillips, Taylor, Johnson, and Tuttle only have 8 career sacks split between the 4 of them ever the past 3 seasons. The fact that Phillips and Tuttle have been slowed down by injuries so much at various points in their careers is a reason for added concern, IMO.

I'm sure we'll do better getting after the passer with new coaches and a new scheme. I'm just skeptical we see the light come on for all of them. I think we're gonna have to scheme ways to get to the QB. Not sure we're gonna get too much out of a 4 man rush this year.
I think that this is reasonable. It is an area of concern, no doubt.

The concern on pass rush is the same concern stated about Bama most years. There have been several years they did not finish high in sacks, yet had stellar D's. They do it by making opponents one dimensional and taking away the run. Then they disguise coverages. It takes a quality, well trained back end to do that obviously. Which plays into CJP's strengths as a coach. It won't happen overnight, but it can and will be better.

True. Granted, the past 4 years they've finished with 40, 54, 52, and 31 sacks.

No idea whether their uptick in sacks over the past few years has been thanks to some scheme adjustments or just more dynamic pass rushers, though.

If I were a mod, you'd be getting an infraction. Knife fights in the street are not sanctioned. All VolNation disputes are to be settled at the Waffle House with pure fisticuffs, no exceptions. Keep that in mind in the future.

Marquees of Queensberry rules are optional, if course.

Pruitt and Rumph did a really cool thing this week, surprising Jordan Allen by flying in his mother from CA for a quick visit. She's having cancer surgery on Tuesday and he couldn't leave camp to go home and see her this weekend. Really classy move.

Drink orders and carwash schedule.

I still got to think that Saban had the “the only reason you’re here is because we have the same agent. Don’t talk. Don’t help. Buy an Alabama T-shirt and stand over there out of the way” talk with him the first time he opened his mouth.

I don’t think any coach in America would turn down a former P5 head coach basically working for them for free. As big of a punch line butch has become, im sure he’s helping somehow.

Unless Butch has had a complete personality change, it's hard to see him clicking with Saban. He's probably doing analytics and charting. I doubt it lasts past this season. Then Butch will move on and reunite his family somewhere-- outside the SEC, IMO.

Coffee ain't gonna get itself. Nick's car does replenish its own fuel tank.

Yea, Gucci posted it yesterday. That was good enough to be posted twice.

Gotcha. That's why I almost never post stuff like that-- I don't see every post and I miss stuff. I just thought it was a really cool thing to do-- and it goes a long way with CA kids and their families. Not the reason they did it, but moms take note.

Saban doesn't seem like the type of guy who will leave any stone unturned to get an edge.

And as bad as Butch was here, he can likely bring something to the table. If he wanted one, he probably could have found a G5 job somewhere. I think he'd make a hell of a ST coordinator, personally.
