None of this seems random, everyone going on the record at the same time. This is orchestrated damage control. I'm not sure that Urban and the University aren't working together here to better their position.

How though? McMurphy is about to call out every single inconsistency. Not sure how "we reported it" is a good argument when the university has to investigate it and Urban said he didnt know until a week or so ago. They are all lying and throwing each other under the bus.

Yeah this seems more like urb trying to save his ass by pushing the blame on the school.

Unless the University was involved in this statement and is comfortable with their handling.
I hadn't considered the angle that OSU, in this ****storm media blitz, was comfortable with their decision to leave a coach that is 100% guilty of domestic violence against his ex-wife on staff...

I believe I read he signed an extension in like April that had guidelines of his contract being void if he didn’t follow university policies.

With that “I reported it” statement he just released... it’s a mic drop on his coaching career... he just said he followed protocol, left it to the university to handle, they didn’t, not his problem... **** you, pay me my monies. 😂

Who hires the guy that just threw a prestigious university under the bus to get paid?

He was probably going to be unhireable after this anyways, or he felt another cardiac condition going on so he's trying to get his buyout money and run(retire).

I cant imagine the school would be ok taking the blame in the middle of a title IX investigation. Might as well add zeroes to that settlement.

Didn't they lose their NT in the spring? And they're thin on the D-line and in the secondary? IDK that much about them, other than Grier, but I heard an interview with one of their beat reporters who said they'd need to hang 30 on us and hold us defensively to win. He seemed sure they could do that. I'm not so sure. I think this game is either team's to win.

He said they lost 2 d lineman, one transferred to UF, and another somewhere else. He said one of them was a major factor in their poor run D, he wouldn't play gap assignment. Another just disliked the 3-3-5 and felt better suited in a 4-3, or something, both grad transfers.
Two things will key. First, Grier needs pressured and rattled hard and early. If he has time, he will pick us apart. Second, we run the ball down their throat and take the clock away. With a healthy o line, our backs as good as they should be will and should get to the second level atleast every time they touch the ball barring a blown assignment.
He also said last years D was more talented, which is funny they ranked like 104, but this years D will mesh better and play more disciplined ball.

Either Urban is going rogue or this is a concerted release. I'm not convinced they aren't working together.

If so it is a stupid move. This will ensure he never coaches another snap in his entire life at any level. If that is the case it is the single most idiotic move he could make. It is so stupid I hadn't even considered it but you may be right.

If he didn't follow university policies per a contract extension signed in April... he's subject to termination without pay.

This would also mean that he's been asked how much to walk away and end this by the University.

It would also be stupid for the school to tell him to do it.

He's trying to make the school allow him to resign or fire him without cause so he can walk away with a good chunk of change

Yes but we know how messy that is in litigation. The University wants a quick end. They are going to ask how much to walk away don't you think?

I can't imagine that not to be true...

So he's either too morally entrenched to admit any wrongdoing to keep the University from fanning all those flames... or they didn't offer enough for him to take the wrap and end his coaching career in a media frenzy

Friendly reminder that the VQ guys are literally the worst predictors of talent and production based on watching practice.

They miss on like 75% of the players they hype. So be cautious. Burned me enough times to know better.

Thought the same. Wood Anderson is being set up to be the next Kongbo and Mackenzie.
