I was thinking the same thing last night. I might have misread, but I thought the excerpt someone posted from OSU's employment contract/guidelines set forth that any employee who is aware of any instances of this sort of abuse by another employee or student is required to report it. According to Davis's wife, she said all the wives were aware and it would stand to reason that some if not all of them spoke to their husbands about it. Yet, no one reported it. Is my understanding of OSU employment requirements accurate and if so, what happens now?

Pleasantly surprised by the upbeat nature of the war room this morning. It honestly made me feel quite a bit better about the prospects for the OLine.

That said, this is the time of year when we all get creamsicle contacts implanted.

My concerns headed into fall camp are going to be the QB situation and the DB’s. We’ve got chance, trey, and a host of other guys for the oline- here’s hoping we can stay injury free and let those guys gel. If the online is working, that takes pressure off of the qb, whoever it is.

I suppose we will also see about injuries which brings me to one other small note that I’m hoping someone can clarify....
We had the new practice facility sod installed Tuesday and the fence is going up today. Surely we aren’t planning on putting guys on fresh sod for a few weeks, right? The last thing we need are new knee injuries. I’m assuming not- and I know nfl teams sometimes replace the center of fields during off weeks, but last year has me injury shell shocked.

I think everyone needs to take a step back and chill on the DB situation. We literally have one of the best defensive HCs and staffs in the country to combat this situation. We may not be the best at db, but we will be much improved imo...lots of talented players there, just need to be coached up

I don’t doubt the coach’s skills- I’ve just seen some things that are hard to forget.

Talk to any Buckeye fan, and they’re riding with not being able to PROVE Urban’s wife told him...in the 3 years since the separation, restraining order et al. Gotta suspend reality to sell it...but they’re dug in. I’m sure the same strategy extends to the assistants. You know we’re lying...we know you know, but prove it!

If that's the official public defense when the investigation concludes, they're going to get roasted.

What time is practice today?

You know, maybe its just me, but I find it odd over the lack of coverage in terms of practice schedule and times. Seemingly, previous years we had a full practice schedule leading up to the first game. Now, if you google first Tennessee fall practice for 2018, it takes some time to even find that its August 3rd.

With all that is out there it's the best defense they have

Reading quotes from Mehlen is friggin hilarious.

Team's no-gun policy applies only in 'certain situations,' coach says after player caught with AR-15 rifle

"No weapons allowed," receiver Josh Hammond said. "That's been our policy since coach Mullen got here."

However, Mullen, who was hired last November to turn around a struggling Gators’ offense, said that’s only the case in “certain situations.”

"It's a no-weapons policy in certain situations of how to be educated to not have (issues)," he said. "No weapons, that's easy to remember. If I write out all the different (scenarios) — no weapons in these situations or have a weapon for a hunting situation, if I'm doing this, I store it at this location, I keep it here, I have gun safety rules and knowledge — that's not a quick catch to them to register in their mind. Does that make sense?"

No coach. That doesn't make any sense at all. I don't know what you just said.

Yeah, but the press has their fangs out and blood is in the water. I can't see the media backing off and saying, "Aw shucks, we got this wrong." As we all know, the cover-up is almost always worse than the crime. In this case, both the cover-up and crime are ugly.

To perhaps answer my own question, I expect Urban to take the full responsibility to remove the majority of the guilt or responsibility from the staff. Might be the only way to avoid a train wreck of colossal proportions. Does this make sense or am I missing something?

I know it was a point of contention in the past but I noticed Pruitt said we have a couple weeks of just football before school starts. Wasn’t it different the last few years where it was only a couple of days of practice before school started?

**Edit** I ask because I know Bama scheduled stuff around Saban to give them a few weeks with no school and just practice.

Guys I been away moving stepson into college he reports to fall football camp today. What did I miss with Pruitt calling plays ?

Did he come out and confirm that in the presser ?

He is calling defensiveness signals from sidelines but I didn't think that was even a question. Of course he was going to call the defense

If sanity prevails. I remember Buckeye fans being real salty about the Drae Bowles/Butch Jones “traitor” allegation. “Why would Bowles lie?” was ironclad logic back then. Big jump to “Saying she told him and her actually telling him are two different things.” and netting 50,000 likes.

If he were to make that selfless, magnanimous (unlikely) move, the heat would be off the small fish...at least until they interview for other jobs.

I phrased it poorly when I said, "I expect Urban to take full responsibility...". I should have stated that Urban taking full responsibility might be the only option to avoid this enveloping the staff as well. I really don't expect him to be magnanimous either. But I can't see this story dying down and going away...

Agreed. tOSU gets to experience the undivided attention of ESPN and what a majority of fans wanted to avoid with a Schiano hire. Not necessarily what he actually DID...just the questions.

Looking forward to seeing pics today after practice to see if we can notice any of the gains or losses from strength program in appearance at least

I've saved pics from last year and done intensive photo analysis to extrapolate weight, body fat %, and several muscle circumference measurements (biceps, quads, and calves). I will compare and contract those photos with ones from today and list gains in an extremely creepy and unnatural post at about 1:30 tomorrow morning after spending hours staring at pics of football players.

:)
