Freak: id still like to opt out of seeing images on here if that’s possible. Curious if that update is coming or if it’s here and I’ve missed it?

In one of the threads in the FF, he responded to my question about it. Said to remind him in a week or two and he could probably create a skin that suppresses pictures.

Not an option at the moment but Freak has said he could do a theme without avatars. Not sure if that carries over to images in posts though.

I don't want to speak for others, but for me it's mainly avatars...I simply prefer what I consider a cleaner look with just the name and other info over there. Also, most of my time on VN occurs when I'm in my office, and occasionally folks post pictures that I don't need my subordinates/boss/others to see if they walk in at just the right moment. Our filters already make it to where I can't see the embedded twitter posts (I simply see the link address, which totally sucks), so it probably wouldn't be too much of a downgrade if Freak does a setting that suppresses all of the pictures.

Don't know if everyone realizes this so here's a quick tip on filters. At the upper right there's a filter option. The cool thing is that recruit threads will have prefixes like the Class of 2019 Commitments thread. Use the filters option or the prefix (bolded orange) in front of a thread to just show threads with that prefix (i.e. all the 2019 recruits). It's still a work in progress as not all the threads are tagged yet but one more neat thing the new software does.

DL this year reminds me of the 2013 DL in a lot of ways. Lots OG guys we were pumped about when they signed. None of them had ever been very productive. A lot of us thought a change in scheme and coaching would help them make a big jump as upperclassmen.


Hopefully this year’s group can make a more meaningful jump. I’m not really convinced they will.

Yeah the old website allowed you to change your preferences so that’s pics/gifs people posted didn’t show up in PC mode. Was a neat feature.

That might be even better. You could like something to trigger the notification and get the poster all happy and then when they go to the post, the like is gone :)
