Someone walked up to my wife in the car and was berating her about parking up on a portion of the flat sidewalk at a Target, since it had been raining just before and she was waiting on me with the buggy to unload. I didn’t trot over and uproot a nose tackle shove on the dude and plant him back on the concrete...the 28 year old male assaulted the 47 year old male...it’s up to due process to figure out all the relevant facts after that.

At the least it should be manslaughter. If he feared for his life, so did the woman. She was verbally assaulted and being intimidated. The guy was right to defend her. Now the state needs to do the right thing.

That a person (woman or otherwise) could be considered "just as threatened" during a verbal encounter while inside a vehicle as a person that has been physically knocked to the ground and advanced on (see video) is an utterly ludicrous assertion.

Now having said the above the shooting itself (in my strong opinion) lost it's justification once the person not only stopped their advance but made an obvious retreat.

I have not once said anything about race or implied anything about race.

It's is obviously a factor though. You bring it up when no one has, shows that race is a factor. We all know it.

The Zimmerman case was predicated on the shooting taking place during an actual physical encounter with Zimmerman firing from a defensive position. (and whatever anybody believes/doesn't believe about that case is moot at this point...that's what got Zimmerman acquitted)

This guy is on video shooting a person that, with no ambiguity whatsoever, had and was appearing to continue to create space between himself and the shooter. IDK what the end result is going to be, legal proceedings are damn weird sometimes, but I don't see an awful lot of similarity between the particulars of the two shootings.
