UFC Thread

As much as Jones has screwed up, he’s still the most naturally gifted fighter in UFC history. If Cormier wants to cement his legacy as the best of all time, I think he has to defeat Jones handily. It’s the only thing people will remember and redeems his two losses (even with the possibility that Jones was on steroids for those fights). Otherwise, there will always be the asterisk beside his name. It’s unfair, yes, but that’s the nature of sports...

DC puts himself in GOAT convo with Mighty Mouse and GSP and leaves out Fedor (why?), Silva, and Bones.

Anderson Silva Destroys Daniel Cormier's GOAT Denial

Bones and Silva should be in the convo. IMO Maybe he left out Fedor, like a lot of people, because he wasn't in the UFC. But he beat a lot of top level guys. Off the top of my head, Big Nog twice, Coleman, Randleman, Cro Cop, Hunt. It irks me that Fedor gets kind of tossed to the side so easily.

Fedor's big weakness was he took too much damage. He got rocked in probably half his wins during his streak. If he didn't get punch drunk, he'd still be one of the top HW's.

I agree, it's weird too because most of his fights were short, but he ate a lot of big shots.

One other thing about Fedor (and the same thing could be said for DC) is that they are tweeners. They belong in a 235 lb weight class. They've both dominated opponents 50+ lbs heavier than them (I don't think there was even a weight cap in Pride, was there?).
