Thanks Joe. I saw your pic with your girl. Great pic, also I went to Lackland to see my son graduate. Doesn’t matter if it’s your son or daughter, you get choked up. I was so proud of him and still am.

I hope she enjoys her time in the service.

congratulations, also great pics...you outkicked your coverage

Went and had a drink with my mentor who taught me just about everything I know in my profession. Austin's always fun. Miss this town.

Cleaning 12 gauge shotguns in front of the boys seems to work

Second. Call for quorum.

I actually did this with a side-by-side 12 gauge when my sisters started dating. My father was abroad for work. My mother was in night school. My older brother was away at college. My sisters would meet their prospective dates at the door, invite them into our home, and bring them to meet me. I would be seated in my father's chair, cleaning one of his shotguns. I'd "interview" the lad, have them confirm the plans for the date and when my sister would be returning home. If I found anything about them squirrely (no offense, hman), I'd nix the date (my sisters would go ballistic). There were only a couple of 'em who I forbade to ever see or speak to my sisters again.

I sincerely hope all the gun talk is just that. As the father of 2 boys it's a little disconcerting

See post 11921. Of course, my experiences were decades ago. Drafted into a duty that should befall a parent, I was quite reasonable. My friends were very protective of my sisters, and occasionally, I had to reel them in. Their "promise" to any lad mistreating one of my sisters was to take them out into the deep woods and leave them tied up to a tree, naked.

Most of the young fellas asking my sisters out were of good character. Some of them actually liked me.
