Josh Dobbs (merged)

Yea one can throw a rocket into orbit and the other can throw beer bottles...... so its not a big difference its a HUGE difference.

I think its hilarious how you fanboys get so emotional over some honest criticism. And apparently you haven't been following Bray's progress, looks like Dobbs is going in the opposite direction.

I never understood why Dobbs was drafted in Pittsburgh he’s a completely opposite QB to their starter. All I can figure is they wanted to experiment with a change up option.

Name two?

They know who they are. You do too.

Edit: I had to go back and see exactly what we are talking about, haha. Maybe you don't and the 4 or 5 that I name would probably deny it, but you know Im right.

Im not sure Rundolph will be any better than the Wesson guy a few yrs ago. He comes from a very weak Defensive conference.

Weaker than the MAC where Roethlisberger played?

Perfect response. Talent is talent no matter where you play. Wentz is a prime example.

We don’t know whether Rudolph has NFL talent yet or not. Only time will tell. But, where he played in college isn’t going to be a big part of the analysis.

He is an awesome ambassador for the university. I would like to see him become more visible as an engineer and start a program to get more kids interested in great and high paying careers in math and science.

This. Mr. Dobbs will have plenty of options. It's not always about football. Sometimes, but not always.

Good point. Joe Flacco was a Super Bowl MVP and I don't even know what D1 AA conference the Delaware Blue Hens play in.

I don’t think any of them are pulling against him...pulling for him, meh. Have the feeling that he won’t play on Sunday, a lot. Think he isn’t a fine representative of UT, none.

Edit: I have no clue where iPhone came from.

Its a silly argument anyway. I'll let you win. :)

I have no clue what that second part means. :dunno:

Pointing out that Dobbs is not in any way shape or from cut out to be an NFL starting QB is not trashing him. If that makes me a negavol I'd rather be that than a fan that checks their brain at the door.

Based on Dobbs ability to make reads and good passing decisions I'm not sure how a prediction that he flunks out of the NFL is far fetched at all. Seems like a "water is wet" discussion.

I wondered the same thing and just assumed they wanted to turn more in that direction after Ben retired. But drafting Rudolph kinda looked like an "oh never mind". Rudolph seems to plug into their current system better than Dobbs and it would seem that a backup is more optimal as a plug-n-play rather than changing the approach midstream.

Dobbs as a low risk gamble that likely at best they considered a project. Drafting Rudolph it's pretty clear Dobbs is not in their long term plans as a starter, but it may turn out Rudoph isn't either.

I never thought he was an NFL QB. Good college player, Great leader/teammate,
Outstanding man away from the football field

If you think saying he's not a NFL QB is downing him then that's on you.

Why he cant play in the NFL? He just as better than these other qbs that be getting jobs

What does "just as better" mean?

Also if you mean why can't he be on an NFL roster, I don't think anyone would be shocked if he stayed in the NFL a while as a backup, likely 3rd string. I mean Matt Simms stuck around as 3rd string and practice squad member from 2012 through last season.

But you know who promised everyone Dobbs was going to lead Pitt to the playoffs this year.

Inb4 Steelers Management is making the mistake

Patience caterpillar. Camp hasn't even started. I'll wait until preseason when Dobbs is the talk of the NFL to tell you so.

Josh Dobbs will be the greatest player in NFL history. That legend starts this year. Strap in cause it's gonna be a fun ride.
