Keep it classy libs....

The Daily Caller reported it. They are aggressively pushing a narrative that liberals nationwide are following the directive of Maxine Waters by harassing Trump supporters as they try to dine peacefully in public restaurants.

"Wear a MAGA hat if you dare! We are coming for you!" :devilsmoke:

Are you saying this is just as poppycock as widespread police brutality?

Hmmmmm.....

Just sitting out watching fireworks when a random guy drives by and punches him ? And why is his arm in the car to begin with?

There's either a lot more to this story or a lot less. His version of events is not credible.

Maybe he had just replayed Obama's "get in their faces" clip. Who knows?

Stay classy, libs!!!

No way you’re a lawyer.

So what about the neighbor who said he saw the incident? Why is it not credible?

You are missing the point. These anti Trump incidents have been occurring ever since he got elected. But it seems like you liberals are completely fine with those who break the law as long as they are against Trump. Its pathetic. Liberals are the true deplorables.

You got him. Raising questions about a particular account of events by someone is something no lawyer EVER does. That whole cross-examination thing is FAKE NEWS.

Stating that the owner of a stolen gun should be held liable for a homicide committed with said stolen weapon all but screams he isnt a lawyer.

Thanks Maxine!!!

Does this qualify as a hate crime?

No. Political ideology/belief/affiliation is not covered, at least in the federal statute.

Switching gears a bit here, but I’ve always wondered why the Channon Christian/Chris Newsom murders were not charged as hate crimes. If there ever was one..., but I digress.

I actually disagree with the entire concept of the hate crime. It goes back to liberals being more concerned with intentions than outcomes.

To your point, the standard is inconsistently applied.

I don't think the idea is that the intent is worse. I think it was a reaction (or overraction) to people getting softer sentences for comitting violent crimes on certain groups.

You posted a website full of “attacks” by Trump supporters. Did you question those before posting the link?

Probably been posted already, but this thread seems to fit.

Worth the six minutes of your life to watch.

It's 100% about motives and it results in unequal justice.

Agreed. Opened the door to entirely too much subjectivity instead of the law/penalties being applied consistently. I think that particular case is evidence of that.

FACT CHECK: Murders of Christopher Newsom and Channon Christian

TY 737...I had forgotten about this. Following up, how horrific.

The so called special "hate crimes" laws allow "special" prosecutorial provisions that exempt others.

What about crimes committed in name of ideology, social status, wealth, etc.

If you expound the provision to infinity, it will come to the collusion that hate is hate, regardless of how we lawfully interpret.

And now, the rest of the story....

But a witness who says he was at the restaurant with family claims that the 20-second video doesn’t tell the whole story.
He said that moments before the attack Richard and his friend were heard making racist comments about hanging blacks and deporting them to Africa.

The witness made the comments to KENS and insisted on anonymity after he said he and his family were receiving death threats for talking about what they saw.
He said that he and his family left the restaurant moments before the attack, which they did not see.

‘They were talking about for the Fourth of July hanging black people from trees, that that would be the perfect party,’ the witness claimed.
‘Hopefully, with Donald Trump within the next few years, we can celebrate a white country, a real country without blacks. Maybe we can deport them to Africa.’

The witness said Richard and his friend were talking about the dystopian horror movie The Purge, a fictional film about an extremist party taking over America and allowing citizens to break any laws for a 12-hour period once a year.
According to the witness, the teens said they hoped The Purge would be implemented in real life - but only against blacks and Latinos.
‘They said they wanted it to be legal for white people to kill any other race for the Fourth of July,’ he said.

The witness also said that other people in the restaurant heard the teens making these comments and asked them to stop.
He said that’s when he and his family ended their dinner early and left before things got out of hand.

The witness said when he got home and turned on the news, he recognized the teens in the viral video.
‘I tried not to listen to their comments,’ he said.
