Anyone seen the new Kevin Costner show Yellowstone?

I'd like to hear some thoughts on it as well.

Costner's stuff is all over the place. He's done some very good movies and others are simply meh. Other than his really bad stuff, of course.

Just watched the first episode and thought it was pretty good.

Good to know.

While on the subject of television, I've resurrected my plan to cut the cord. I'm ready once I find someone to install the aerial/antenna for local stations.

Leaning towards PS Vue with Amazon Fire TV. Both are a little more than some of the other options but after talking to a few people and hearing their thoughts and recommendations, I think this will be best for me.

Once I get over the initial investments for the antenna and other hardware, I'm cutting my current DirecTV bill in half or a bit more.

If you know anybody with a cable sub, just the FireTV will be fine other than CBS... CBS doesn't stream their games for whatever reason... I end up watching them through reddit links that aren't hard to find but it's a bit of a pain...

make sure you have access to at least 100MBPS internet tho... THAT is important for cutting the cord

Depending on your computer... another tip is to hook up a new big HDD (you can get a nice HGST He8 for like $200) and set up a Plex server (Plex is free)... burn all your DVD's to digital copies and you'll have a nice movie subsidiary (and there's also lots of places to get new movies but we'll not go there :ninja:)

I had Netflix, PS Vue, HBONow, Hulu, and SlingTV... with ALL that, lowered my cable bill by $50/month... Later, I found out my parents have a joint cable account with me (don't ask, it's complicated)... now I just have my Plex server and 3 FireTV boxes (not the firesticks they suck... you want to hardwire)

But I just plugged in my user/pass for EPB and since they have cable on my account it works for all the FireTV apps...

If I had to pick one though, I'd got with PS Vue

Anyone have any experience with Direct TV Now?

I'm looking at YouTube TV. Looks like everything I need for $40.

You shouldn't need to get an antenna installed. Buy a Mohu Leaf. Hook it straight to your cable hookup on your tv and hang it inside on a wall. You can get a good one for between $30-$50, depending on which one you want.

Or you can load CBS, ABC, and NBC sports apps to firestick if you choose to get a firestick.

I've heard bad things about DirecTV now. If you have a playstation get PSVue, if not I'd go slingtv
