Keep it classy libs....

On the issue of "keeping it classy," the Ren Hen reopens tonight to a full house. Protesters are already assembling. Will it be kept classy or not?
They SHOULD take their cue from MaxiPad. But I really couldn't care less.

$12 cheese plate. lulz

That's a good deal. I paid $22 last weekend for three scallops.

Edit: On Maxine, she said that about members of the administration, not people who simply support Trump, let alone people who eat at businesses whose owners support Trump.

Really? That's the battle of wits you want to have? You take an example of someone who is uninformed on the other side and try to impute their lack of well crafted argument to the entire other side?

That's a pathetic and pretty obvious weak argument ploy. And I can just as easily go to a dollar general store and find some Trump supporters with equally poorly thought out positions. I mean, I can find that easily.

And so I will respond to your points in pithy fashion:

Tax cuts: Short term and ephemeral benefit to the middle and lower classes but a pretty big boon for the wealthiest. Will backfire in time. Also, adds to the deficit and the debt. Hypocritical Republicans seem okay with that if it benefits their bank accounts, which is a recurring theme when it comes to fiscal policy. They claim to be conservative and for financial restraint, but if they are going to get some money, they spend like drunken sailors.

Talks with North Korea: My reaction is I think typical of even most Republicans. Its a great thing if it leads to some progress on denuking NK. I worry that Trump has been played, though. Only time will tell.

Higher stock market: Trump gets credit for two things. Number one is just giving business the impression that he is pro-them, and for a general climate of deregulation. The first of those will fade. The second I have concerns that deregulation in the banking sector in particular will come back to haunt us. The tax cut benefit to large corporations is real, but it is just adding to the economic disparity in this country that in the long term is the real threat to stability and the Democracy. Its fine for the wealthy now to control things and benefit, handing out crumbs to the middle class. In time, no one will be fooled by that.

HRC emails: She screwed up, she said so. Though the conspiracy loons here and elsewhere qet each other going in a massive alt right circle jerk, there is no actual reason to think anything came of it. But anything with the word Clinton in it invokes the ultimate GOP loyalty of we hate them, no matter what. No distortion of fact is too big, no made up conspiracy nonsense is too weird, we hurt anyone in our path, as long as at the end of the day we can say the secret code word "Clinton" and send our pathetically ignorant minions into a tizzy, yet again. Mail your checks to ....

Drunken sailors stop spending when they run out of money. Congress, does not.

Hillary "screwed up" :good!: riiiiiiight. Like I said, she has been in the inner power circle for decades. "Screwing up" after that much time there is inexcusable, incompetent and a flat out LIE. She didn't forget to pay her phone bill. She violated security protocol. Period. C'mon man you cannot be serious when you espouse giving her anything remotely resembling a pass here.
The greenest Ensign/2nd Lt knows how serious this is.
You are pathetically naive and you missed th epoint of my post.

Miss Misinformation, the Spokestoady, even ordered it.

Quit trying to ruin their narrative. The evil 80 year old woman is a clear threat to the deplorables.

They wanted to raise $85K for his "legal defense funds" since those crazy right wingers were going after him unjustly.

Quickly took it down as more facts emerged. Shocking, I know.

The funny part is that his mom was included in it because she takes care of his sorry 30 y/o ass.

A good commentary on the state of things.

"Mitch Albom: The ricochet effect of public shaming now on full display"

Mitch Albom: Ricochet effect of public shaming on full display

"Public shaming. All that’s missing is the dunce cap. Except this time, the dumb behavior is from the people who think they’re being smart."

I assume you are alluding to Trump.

Notice I said 'anybody with common sense'.

To this point, the only response we have seen as a result of Trump's tariffs is that of retaliatory action. It is pure conjecture on your part (as well as political partisanship and Trump fanboy stubbornness) for you to act as though this either has lead to negotiations or will lead to negotiations in the future. This is an exhibition of Trump's arrogance in it's most destructive form and he is bringing the American economy along for the ride this time.

Were you this upset when Obama placed tariffs on China?

Right now, we're America the Teenager. In the grand scheme of things we're a very young country and one that insists on going at things our own way, facts, evidence, and sense be damned. We've got a lot of growing up to do.

But that's the cool thing about being in the US. At the end of the day, we all want what our hearts tell us is the best America possible. We're just at loggerheads with ourselves as we figure things out. I have faith we'll come out on the other side of things better, together.

And for the record, I took the Brewster's Millions approach to this past presidential election and wrote in None of the Above. Both Captain Combover and Betty Bobblehead were pathetic choices.
