Josh Dobbs (merged)

It's such a weird bit of trolling, too. Typically, trolls seem to be having fun with it. And when he says stuff like "I know talent better than anyone on the planet," that seems like a guy who is having fun going as over the top as possible. But he rarely goes to that point of obvious humor. The vast majority of the time he doesn't seem like he's having fun at all.

I honestly think as much as he is trolling, he REALLY wants to be right because he is a fanboy. Probably still hanging posters in his room and stuff of Dobbs and AK. But predicting Dobbs to win an MVP without even looking like he may sniff the field and his preseason prowess last year was awful or predicting AK to be in the HoF when his reasoning contradicts his knocks against Goff and Bosa just scream fandom.

Maybe but I still think it's forced fanboyism. Unless he actually is this delusional, he knows picking Dobbs to be a great NFL QB was at best a very long shot.

Considering his dogged adherence to even his failed predictions, I think he just can't admit when he's wrong.

His ego is so tied up in this idea that he has some sort of preternatural ability to see talent, that any admittance of a failed eye test is catastrophic to his self-image.

For Christ's sake he still thinks Joey Bosa is a bust.

Most of Bosa's sacks are luck :)

That one still cracks me up ... when its a guy he likes that is doing well, it's his eye and that guy's skill ... when it's a Bosa or Goff, eh, just luck.

Hey D4h I got an idea buy one of those jerseys and fly to Pitt for a Steelers game then have him sign and tell him your gonna be the greatest qb of al time

100 dollars says even he would bust out laughing or maybe he might just think your a poor fella who had bad head injuries

I think it's more likley Dobbs already has a restraining order against D4H.

At this point, it would probably be good for him to get cut, and at least give him a chance to get picked up by another team.

If they wait until after pre-season to cut him, then it will likely be the end of his NFL career.

better off getting released and going to a team that needs a QB or back up -- would be glad to see him go -- I hate the Steelers

But you know who promised everyone Dobbs was going to lead Pitt to the playoffs this year.

Not sure why some are gloating. Dobbs is a helluva ambassador for UT. If you're happy he may be cut so you can laugh at a poster on this site then, well, that's pretty sad.

it wouldn't surprise me. It wouldn't surprise me if Jones is gone and he backs up if he looks improved. I'm sure he hasn't been sitting on his butt.

Its sad so many are happy to down a player who meant so much to the program though.

Agreed. Although I like to give D4H a hard time, I want to see Dobbs make it in the NFL. Maybe he can sign with another team who will give him a legit shot if he is released.

I do think with some good coaching and personal work he could become a serviceable QB.

I never thought he was an NFL QB. Good college player, Great leader/teammate,
Outstanding man away from the football field

If you think saying he's not a NFL QB is downing him then that's on you.
