Funny story, when kiffin coached here there was a rule where you couldn’t use a football during workouts. So they wadded up towels and duck taped them in the shape of footballs and did playbook installation with them 😂😂😂

They had coeds over after practice too 🤣

Yep.

Not forced to rush back from an injury, win a ring, potentially shed the “cancerous teammate” stigma, prove he’s healthy, and get paid even more next summer. (Watch him go to LA)

Yea but this is a drastic difference. When iggy signed with the warriors he had near max offers but he at least got like 12mil i think with a few years. Cousins signed a worse deal than Mario Hezonja with the Knicks ( 1year 6.5 mil).

This may be the biggest bargain of all time.

Was Iggy coming off a catastrophic injury that big men rarely recover from and would miss >50% of his contract even in a best case scenario?

Drastically different set of circumstances.

That even furthers the point that he should’ve taken the bigger longer deals on the table. Not a one year prove it deal making 5mil lol

You aren’t understanding

It’s the right move. I know you don’t like it because it hurts LeBron but it’s the correct move if he believes in his own recovery.

Like I said earlier, he’s betting on himself.

The lakers basically had like 50+ mil available before renouncing Randle. They have plenty of money for another max player. They could’ve got George and LeBron through FA.

They signed kentavious and lance and rondo instead. All before boogie signing with warriors. Show me where they offered and he turned them down. There were no rumors of him turning teams down. Yeah he could have gotten a better deal but he wasn't getting max this year with the injury and lack of teams with cap space.

No I’m perfectly understanding.in what way other winning a ring is this the right move?

He’s coming off a major injury, even worse for bigs. He basically turned down multiple years with at least triple the money. For a contract that bench players are signing that has no long term stability or guaranteed money. If he gets injured again he’s done. The only thing “right” about this move is that he can tag along to a title.

What offers did he turn down?

“Impending free-agent center DeMarcus Cousins is reportedly "very likely" to re-sign with the New Orleans Pelicans five months after he suffered a torn Achilles.

On Friday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported on SportsCenter that Cousins "was on his way to a five-year, full-max contract, having the best season of his career, before the injury." Woj said the four-time All-Star is expected to remain with the Pelicans on a two-year deal.”

They were offering him 2+1(player option) at 20 mil a year.

They don’t have a rim protector. It’s what killed them in the series that they lost to the Cavs. You have to actually watch games to know that, not just look at the box score and go from there bud.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE how you think you’re the only joe who watches the nba lol. You’re so lost

I said the pelicans were the only team who could offer him a lot but he obviously didn't want to stay. The Lakers couldn't offer that much. And didn't seem to want to since they didn't even try. Did anyone else offer? Maybe he likes no cal.

The Lakers had like 26million avaible after renouncing Randle so then about 15 after signing rondo. (If they could stretch or dump Deng it could be like 30mil available not counting luxury tax) A lot of laker writers believe the rondo deal was a precursor to signing cousins who they have met with multiple times over the weekend. Pretty much the only reason to renounce Randle was to make room for a high salary guy.

Maybe they never actually offered anything after meeting multiple times but they definitely could’ve offered a better deal then 1yr 5mil.
