Lakers couldn't get near that after signing lebron. They had to drop Randle to sign rondo. Very few teams could get close to 20 mil and I didn't see any reports of him turning down any other than maybe the pelicans. Not a lot of money out there especially since he will be coming off the Achilles.

Exactly. He can work back from the Achilles slowly and get paid next year. If he can come back. Tough injury. Funny that he is getting paid exactly the discount Durant gave on his new contract.

It's all about that ring. If he has made his money, I don't fault him for signing with a winner that he feels like he can help. Plus, he has to get over the disappointment of not winning a national championship at Kentucky.

Yep.

Not forced to rush back from an injury, win a ring, potentially shed the “cancerous teammate” stigma, prove he’s healthy, and get paid even more next summer. (Watch him go to LA)

The lakers basically had like 50+ mil available before renouncing Randle. They have plenty of money for another max player. They could’ve got George and LeBron through FA.
