something tells me that, based on the bold part above, Biden's net worth is far greater than 366K. That quote would seem to indicate that his investment holdings are worth from 59K up to 366k.

like Monterey said, if 36 years in the senate leaves you with a net worth of only 366k, economics isn't your strong suit.

The indignant responses to this are a bit dramatic. Separate yourselves from your political leanings (and mine) and listen to what I'm saying - Joe Biden is a trusted source on foreign policy. He's chaired the Senate Foreign Relations Committee for many years, with many different colleagues, under different administrations. He's seen and done a lot. In fact, I would say the same thing about a man I disagreed with vehemently - Jesse Helms. The man knew his stuff, even if people disagreed with his strategies.

You all are welcome to debate this subject ad nauseam. I'm finished.

but you try to imply that Americans know that. That's ludicrous. I don't really care if he is the next coming of Marshall, Americans have to know it to vote. Then, they have to believe that a VP working for the second coming of Carter would have any authority to be sensible in the foreign policy arena.

I don't think he's perceived as what you "insiders" want him to be, nor do I think he'll matter in an administration with Obama. I think he'll be relegated to a Gore style role and have to bide (no pun intended) his time by finding a pet lunacy project, a la Gore's global warming.

Edit: Dan Rather and Katie Couric have covered much more than you've even considered, but I wouldn't trust them to be correct on any topic under the sun.

MSNBC has gone off the deep end. Matthews and Olberman are going back through Biden's speech restating his points and drawing applause from their live audience as if they were at the podium. It's a complete embarrassment for a "news" organization. I fully expect that after Obama's speech tomorrow night one of them will eventually drop their pants on the set and start humping the desk.
