Everyone was OK with Trump when he identified as a Democrat and was generous to the party.

When that changed he miraculously morphed into Hitler.

These things swing back and forth. One year into president Obama’s 2nd term the liberals who live across the street told me the republicans were done and would never recover. Now here we are. The DNC is in the toilet without a message or a viable candidate. Things change quickly in politics. The DNC won’t be down for long and the Republicans aren’t going away either.

What I don't get is that there's a vast swath of people in the middle who are socially liberal, want some degree of a social safety net, and basic sound fiscal management of the government, but neither party is sweeping in to pick them up.

Yeah and I think the DNC is trying to squelch her saying that because they're afraid if the public sees that this is the main plank of their agenda - which btw it clearly is - it will cost them some seats come November.

This isn’t hard. The Dems take the House the GOP holds the senate. That will be how this shakes out.

There's going to be a big big push to take the senate. Highly unlikely, but what McConnell did to Garland--and the effect it's clearly having on the court--will galvanize some Dems in states with tight senate races. I would love to have the Dems capture the senate and go full McConnell (i.e., refuse to even give a hearing to these Trump court nominees).
