4star monster OL from Seymour, TN but transferred to IMG in January and wanted a UT offer but didn't have one until he camped last week. He balled out at camp, staff is pushing for him, he was set to commit in July and now sounds like UT is likely the destination.

Whew. Took the flyer and got caught up on that thread. Blind Side 2.0 starring Kenny Chesney. This time, the good guys win.

Do you guys really not understand individual stats? Chrysts aren't that much, if any better..while he played on a MUCH better team, with MUCH better OL, better coaching and better everything else around him...How is that so hard to get through your heads? I have said the exact same thing over and over again and yet you keep pointing out TEAM accomplishments?..I mean come on..I don't give a dang if he had went 13-0..HIS..individual play was below mediocre..that is why he is here, and not there.

Listen..I'm glad we got him because he is surely better than McBride and a true freshman who needs a few years of work to be ready.

Only stat I care about with a QB is W-L record and Chryst has a very good one.

It really is this simple. JG likely has more potential, but we need the guy that will help us win now.

I don't really think it's that simple.

I take choice 2.

Choice 1:
Chryst starts and we win 7 games
2019 we win 7 games
2020 we win 8 games

Choice 2 :
JG starts and we win 6 games
2019 JG starts and we win 7 games
2020 JG starts and we win 10 games

Monster OL. Love monster OL's ! Bring them on. We gonna have a whole different looking OL in a couple of years. We gonna have some big boys.

I guess that I didn't realize that his uncle was Paul, head coach at Wisconsin. I guess I have lived under a rock.

In his first 5 games he started in 2016, he went 5-0 and had 10 TD's to 1 INT. I'd say the staff would take that production. My guess is we try to pound the rock a little more similar to Stanford.

I don't care who the QB is as along as they pick the one that helps us win more.

He did. He did specify individually. But especially at QB I don’t see how wins doesn’t matter. It’s the leader of the team and if you do what it takes for the team to win that is absolutely a skill set

He also said the pc12 sucks. It doesn’t

Others make many excuses for JG that butch sucked. I never liked his offense but it’s undeniable that the year befores offense was extremely explosive. It also was explosive w AK out and JK in. It also didn’t have a great line. The main doffernce? Dobbs vs JG

I’m rooting for JG but tired of the avalanche of excuses for him and then people acting like leading a team to 10-3 and 12th in the country is mediocre. If that’s mediocre then I’d be down for some mediocrity over the next few years

I said the pac 10 as a whole treats defense as an afterthought. That is why I think it sucks comparatively.

2020 is too far away to think about that. Too many things can happen. The way Pruitt has been building this roster, he is thinking about next year.

Imo it's never too early to be thinking about the QB of the future. Now maybe Pruitt can build this thing so the QB isn't a key part of an elite team but I'd prefer having an experienced talented QB as opposed to not.

But he didn’t lead his team to the total of that 10-3 record. He’s yet to play a full season, so that stat is a little misleading.

Other things: to ignore the change in OC’s between Dobbs and JG is also leaving out a major qualifier. That was one of the worst offensive staffs I’ve ever seen. If it wasn’t for Gillespie and Kelly, it would’ve been Rod Dowhower bad.

Again, I hope Chryst does well and the change of scenery gives him new life, but I think his W/L record (especially 2016) makes him seem better than he really is. But if he is just the field general type who gives us memorable victories, I’ll take it.

You can try to plan for it, but coaches don't really look at it that way because they know their future can ride on what happens this year and next. If he goes 6-6, Guarantano gets hurt and then goes 5-7, Pruitt will be on the hot seat.

Plus, transfers, suspensions, injuries, etc. all can happen in 2 years. By 2020, we should have at least 2 QB's on the roster who are competent. You either have it or you don't.

Imo if Pruitt wins 7 games in year 2 he will be on the hot seat regardless of year 1. I just don't see much difference in 6 or 7 wins in year 1.

Year 2 and 3 are HUGE for Pruitt

What do you expect to talk about before the start of Fall camp? Seriously?

Honestly.. I was trolling as much as anything else. So many others do it on here just wanted to see what it felt like.

I'm sort of meh about it. Not any kind of glorious afterglow.. don't even want a cigarette or a sandwich... Kinda disappointed actually. 😁😁

7 wins means he beat one of WV, UF, UGA, Bama, Auburn, or South Carolina. If it's South Carolina, maybe it's not a huge deal. If it's any of the others, it's a pretty big deal because it reinforces that the staff can coach.

I believe we have the talent to beat WV, but we have to do it.

You built it all up in your mind and then....nothing...kinda like Chryst is going to be for these fellers.

I did not realize that this was the kid from Kings Academy in Seymour. He was definitely a man among boys, but the competition he faced was pretty low. I trust our staff and hope he continues to make positive impressions with the staff.

Did you really type that with a straight face? 🤔 I can almost see and hear you chuckling to yourself.."Watch this, I'm really gonna get Everett riled up with this one..😁

I agree with all that but I just don't think that hypothetical extra win does anything to change the importance of year 3
