'19 NC RB Quavaris Crouch (Tennessee signee)

As expected, the Wolverines rolled out the red carpet for North Carolina's top prospect, continuing an all-around showcase of athletics, academics and support to both Crouch and his camp.

As we reported heading into the visit, the ball is in Crouch's court as to what position he will play in college. Michigan has given him the green light to play both sides of the ball if he so chooses to and will not risk losing his commitment over forcing his hand as far as positional choice. Crouch is capable of playing either running back or linebacker but has publicly spoken in favor of the defensive side of the ball in recent months.

Going into the visit, I posted that I believe it's currently a Michigan/Tennessee race for Crouch's services. It's my opinion that the Wolverines may have overtaken the Volunteers based on the intel I received post-visit. It's also believed that Crouch may make a decision prior to his senior season. With that in mind, I am still withholding on a 247Sports Crystal Ball as a prospect of Crouch's level will still have all of his major suitors continue to make big runs at him. All things being considered, Michigan continues to do the right things in this recruitment.

Not sure how solid this writer is for Michigan247 but finally something on their site. No quotes from Crouch though just an opinion piece from Steve Lorenz...

So we don’t hear anything from Crouch following the visit to Ann Arbor, and in fact their mods say he went completely silent and wouldn’t take their calls, but now he’s supposedly leaning Michigan all of a sudden?

I call 💩.

Don't remember if posted here but Michigan Rivals had a random article about how good Crouch looked in their uniform and the Rivals National guy Friedman said that while Michigan has done well with crouch he thinks it will be hard to get him out of the South away from a TN, SC, Clemson or FSU.

Seems more likely.

He left out the part about Crouch also publicly stating he really doesn't want to play at a cold weather school. Which Michigan is. Which leaves.....

Callahan with a response to the Michigan writers opinion...

I haven’t heard that, but I’ll look into it and see what I can find out coming off the visit. I will say that Michigan has been a contender for a while, so I cant rule that out. But that would surprise me a bit because most people I’ve talked with don’t envision Crouch going north.

I would say any school that calls itself 'THE university of blankity blank' will compete for that dubious honor.

I dislike living in Ohio with buckeye fans, but the Michigan fans are way worst. They believe their academics are better than Harvard and their views on their football program are way skewed. When I talk to Michigan they refuse to recognize that Michigan has been in a slump such as Tennessee. I guess only beating OSU 3 times since 2000 and winning 2 of the last ten against "little brother" MSU hasn't knocked them back down to reality.
