I can think of very few if any more worthy of Vol fans' honor and respect than John Ward. He was a great man, and someone to emulate. We have all missed him since he retired and now the world is a lesser place without John in it. Welcome home to your reward John. You are missed.

My favorite call from John Ward: Florida game 1998: “The kick is in the air........no sirree, no sirree!! Final score Tennessee 20 Florida 17. Pandemonium reigns!”

Because in the 2014 UTC game we kept calling hitch routes and he would get nailed right in the spine. First time he survibed it but the second time was the nail in the coffin. He was done after that.

Like when I said that Curries contract was the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen.

Like when I said it was not good that our AD was in the Bahamas during a coaching search.

Like when I said we were gonna hire Jeremy Pruitt.

Like when I said Mike Leach would be a bad hire.

Always cracks me up when people act like they were the only ones saying something that at least every other person was saying. You ARE D4H.

Let's see here. I'd have been with you on your first and last points. I could have said we were going to hire Jeremy Pruitt when Fulmer narrowed it down to three as well. A lot of people could have foresaw that. Bottom line here is, Kiffin simply did not underachieve here in his first season. Ole Miss, Virginia Tech and UCLA losses were rough, but the Georgia and Sourh Carolina wins were pretty sweet. 7 wins with that roster was pretty acceptable.

When I said those things I got an earful from the board.

I was alone in much of that when I said it.

Point is I don’t have to be in the majority to be right.

I called Pruitt the day after Schiano. FYI. That was really just a lucky guess based on who I thought would take the job.
