Lane Kiffin is a successful head coach at his current job and will be a successful head coach at his next job.

Let the debate!

A post I made last October on Kiffin.

Let's recap the career of Lane Kiffin.

Oakland Raiders - Fired in the month of September. The owner called Kiffin a flat out liar and ended up being able to fire him WITH cause.

Tennessee Volunteers - left us in the middle of the night in mid January and left us scrambling for a coach with the NCAA on their way to town where they would end up crushing our basketball program by taking our basketball coach. Meanwhile we hire Derek Dooley to cover dirt on a program that Kiffin buried. It is believed that Kiffin had some extra curricular activities while in Knoxville as well.

USC - Fired again in the month of September when he was pulled off the team bus at 3am. They couldn't wait to get rid of this guy.

Alabama - Relieved of his duties on January 2nd just before they were to play for a national title.

Anyone even mentioning this guy as a candidate needs to have their head examined. Lane Kiffin is a child. In the end it is always the same story with this guy. His employers can't wait to get rid of him. The ONLY reason that didn't happen here is because he skipped town on us before we could see the real Kiffin. He doesn't have what it takes to be a leader or a coach of young men. If it was all about X's and O's then he would be great but the reality is that he SUCKS at everything outside of that.

Nice to be talking about going up by 30 points on somebody instead of sweating out a game like Ohio.

That pissed me off so much. We should blow teams like Ohio and especially Indiana State out of the water by halftime so the back-ups get playing time experience in the second half.

We were up 21-0 with 9 minutes left in the 2nd quarter against Indiana State. Went up 28-0 at half. The problem was that Dormady fumbled and threw a redzone INT in the first two possessions in the 2nd half.

Edit: But UMass would be a good example.

A umass team coached by chris berman lol

I find it interesting that everyone wants to talk about the damage done by Dooley and Butch (and there was a lot) but don’t talk about Kiffin. All this started when Kiffin left so suddenly for USC (actually started when Fulmer was fired with no plan) and left a crater when his only signing class turned out to be smoke and mirrors. Dooley was a panic hire (Muschamp’s fault, he must still be laughing) and Butch was a cheep hire. The mistake of Kiffin started the dominos.

Eh all it takes is the right hire. It sucked when kiffin left but if we would’ve just ponied up and made people tell us no... we wouldn’t have got Dooley.

I just used Indiana Stat as an example of a team we should beat handily. Probably not the best team to use in that scenario and should have used UMass instead, like you said. Those games we should go out there, be up by 40-something by the 4th quarter and get all backups and 3rd/4th string some gametime experience.

I'm perplexed as to why any major AD would ever consider hiring him. Even if you didn't think that whole fiasco was his fault, it still happened under his watch.

The man is an absolute embarrassment to collegiate administrators everywhere (and not just for his work at UT), yet Maryland is going to try and rehabilitate his image or, at worst, give him another shot? Are there no other up and coming candidates they could find to interview? Where is the accountability in that profession?

Because that profession is somewhat of a fraternity and they always cover for each other

Boy, they are picking from a mess of a pool. At least two of those three have baggage. Isn't Evans the former UGA AD who got forced out because of a criminal charge or scandal?

I think he might’ve been the one that got caught red handed with red panties in his lap in a traffic stop.

Just because there was a plan does not mean it was a good plan. We have plenty of evidence that it was a terrible plan.

Did you see where I said I thought it was a good plan? The guy said "there was no plan" after Fulmer was fired. That was the plan, to hire Kiffin. Don't know what you're getting at here.
