Trump cancels Singapore nuclear summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un

Including 25 years worth of interest (1990 to 2015) on $400 million ($1.3 billion) and it was. I don't know why this is a hard concept for you. You bring it up all the time. Prior to the overthrow of the Shah in 1979, Iran paid the U.S. (approximately) $400 million for military equipment which wasn't delivered following the revolution and the taking of hostages at the U.S. embassy in Tehran.

Delivered under darkness and the hostages got released at the same time. Coincidence?

A halt to the joint military exercises is a concession. Trump knows it will be seen as such or he wouldn't be trying to get out in front of it with the phony "but this will save money!" cop-out.

He came... He saw... He buckled like a little leaguer seeing a curve ball for the first time.

For some reason I thought the left was for denuclearization.

These kinds of things don't get fixed in 1 meeting. This is the beginning not the end. Will anything change long term, who the hell knows. Is this a great start, absolutely. If you all would turn CNN off you would start to think more clearly

Actually, CNN has been rather objective. Well, more objective than they usually are concerning Trump.

lol

We speak of peace with a nation while continuing to prepare for war with them.

Somehow, this likely makes sense to you.

I'll bet you don't even know how often those exercises are conducted nor what they entail. But you heard it on one of the liberal news sites and decided to parrot it here.

How is that promise any different from the denuclearization promise? Both are promises. None have technically been acted on yet. This is the basic formula to an agreement.. you agree and then over time, you act on your promises. This appears to be very complicated for you and Mick.

The leaders of the United States and North Korea sat down for the first time in history and agreed the de-nuclear agreement reached in April of this year needed to move forward.

Done.

Now, your answer?

Trump agreed to not hold war games with SK. The next one was scheduled for August. Pretty much business as usual wouldn't you say?

They know it may become reality and don't want to be on the wrong side of History. They are playing it safe but they will screw it up sooner or later. They always do.

Also, Trump seemed to signal a major concession at his press conference by saying that the United States and South Korea will be ending their joint military exercises. He cited cost as a factor in this but that's a cop-out. This was the first of what will likely be many concessions with absolutely nothing but a signature on a piece of paper to show for it.
I know that since you were on your knees at the Obama altar the last 8 years you don't recognize it, but you are witnessing what it is like to win. Also what it is like to have a leader.

:good!:

Life is great.

It took 3 meetings between Reagan and Gorbachev to finalize a deal.

Still waiting on your answer to my question. What changed from yesterday morning to this morning?

We had meaningful dialog with a rogue nation for the first time ever. That and the date on the calendar changed.

These things take time.

Literally days apart, we have seen a stark dichotomy between the way this "leader" treats his allies (There is a special place in hell for Trudeau? Seriously?) versus adversarial dictators (including Putin - Trump suggested that Russia should be welcomed back to the 'G 8').

That is winning?

What makes our "allies" allies? What have they done for us?
