That's just not true
I am not trying to argue about anything just trying to clarify.
He could have been admitted to school but have an NCAA issue especially if it's core gpa
Yes he could have not signed and just enrolled like Bryce Thompson. But that is obviously not the case here since the issue is that he wasn't allowed to enroll for some reason. And also, it was reported he signed early in December and the University reported accepting his NLI in December. So the spot is gone whether he enrolls or not. Thus, I highly doubt the coaches have turned him away since it doesn't give them an extra spot anyway. There is something else preventing it IMO.
I am not suggesting or even hinting we turned him away.
I just think it's possible we might not lose the spot. I can't keep up with all the rules but Pretty sure Early signees only sign financial aid agreements and not NLIs. Maybe that is a loophole where we don't lose the spot if he doesn't make it
Also he could have have been pre admitted but that doesn't mean that can't be rescinded if there are problems.
With the early signing period, early signees sign NLI's. It is just like NSD but early. And they also changed the rules recently that if you accept the NLI and they don't qualify you still lose the spot. Which is why many teams didn't pursue Bryce Thompson for example. I do not see any potential loophole here. Hopefully he gets in.
Give the kid the benefit of the doubt. It's an embarrassing situation for him regardless of what happened.
Was a little harsh I admit. I do hate it for the kid. There could be a number of factors that led to him being where he is. We all have moments where we would change the past if given a second chance. Maybe he will get his.
We aren't certain on numbers but it seems to be most here think it's a lost spot if he doesn't make it inReally disappointing news. Sounds like a very slim chance he's a part of this class.
Damn I remember this time last year, and all throughout the cycle, how excited I was about the possibility of "the big three" in state DL Lawless, Litaker, and Emerson being a staple of our line for a few years. All commit and want to be here, but when its all said and done only one might be a Vol. Frustrating part of recruiting.
Kind of a cold question, but what does this mean from a numbers perspective? We still lose his spot? Or would him not being a part essentially make Thompson not have to be a blue shirt?
