He looks like Shirley from What’s Happening? He should cut it ASAP imho.

Nah. DKjr got good hair. He don't need to cut anything.

Although I will admit that having an afro that size does take a lot of maintenance. Having to deal with it every morning after getting matted every night when you sleep is a problem. That's the main reason I cut my fro a few months back. Way too much work to keep it looking right everyday.

High top fade is way less maintenance and almost as good a look.

I can't imagine cramming a fro into a football helmet...

Glad the kid decided to stay a Vol but I'm definitely worried that this is a sign of how desperate Pruitt is on his need for defensive help.

Kirkland hasnt exactly been a superstar due to not staying healthy.

Again, glad he's back but I'm worried about what this means for the bnb year to come.

I have it on good authority that DKjr was worried about not getting playing time since Pruitt likes Bituli more for this system. Coaches with met with him and his family and promised reps. Pretty wild. Now..do your worst lol

EDIT: likely promised reps. I don’t know what was said in their meeting, only know that he was going to transfer because of PT.
Yup. I have it on good authority Gruden was in the meeting, also. Drew up the desired defense to spider 2 Y banana in order to illustrate that the 3-4 featured 2 ILBs.

of course he's desperate... we don't have much depth at lb and Kirkland wouldn't been a huge loss. glad Pruitt identified that and did whatever it took to get him to stay.

Wait.... were these actual reps or leadership reps?

If he had wanted to get his masters elsewhere, I couldn't begrudge him leaving. However, I am glad he is staying.

I agree with that. I also think he should be able to choose any school/team in any conference. (Hear that, Nick?!)

I had a radically different thought process when I read that he was coming back. I thought that it was really encouraging that when a player was unhappy and considering a transfer that the coach could sit down with him, talk it over like adults and find the best solution. This is in contrast to what happened with Dooley and Bryce Brown who never had a discussion about it.

Something I like about Pruitt.
Even though he doesn’t say much to the media, what he does say is just straightforward what he thinks.
No bs or coach speak.
Hope he stays that way.

What a turn of events!

At least Verne's call was good!

IT'S CAUGHT!!!!! IT IS CAUGHT!!!!! JAUAN JENNINGS!!!!! JAUAN!!!!! JENNINGS!!!!!

That's the call that will live on, and I'm okay with that. Also, it was in Verne's last season, so that's cool.

You said "promised reps" and then clarified it with "likely promised reps. I don't know what was said...."

Would've been better if you'd guessed "promised opportunity." Which is all any honest coach will do with any young man. There are no guarantees, you earn your way into the starting line-up. Coaches merely give you the opportunity to make your case. Period.

Opportunity, not reps. That's what's on offer. The rest is up to the lads.

True true. I reread the text i got about it, and didn’t want to go off of presumptions, hence the edit. Point I’m making is that playing time was 100% the issue.

*nod* It makes sense. The more talented lads come into college thinking of glory, girls and games...but leave college thinking of pro prospects and pay days.

DKJr has clearly made that transition. He's looking to his future. Glad he sees Rocky Top as his best chance of reaching it.

I wonder where he got the idea he wouldn't get enough playing time. I know Butch and his coaches always had him about even with Jumper and injury decided that one last season.
