Fortnite Battle Royale

Got my first solo win the other day, and just got my first squad win with randoms earlier. Still getting used to building, been playing about 2 or 3 weeks. If I get rushed then I am dead.

If you’re on console, switch to Builder Pro, if you haven’t already. Learn to throw down walls between you and the enemy first. That’s better than nothing.

Either put 8+ hours in a day or just die over and over. Its what this game has become lol

Nah you don't need 8 hours a day. Most days I may not even get to play at all and I consider myself a pretty decent player.

We are still playing tf out this game every evening. Getting more consistent top 5 finishes and have even picked up 25 wins or so this month. I don’t play alone much though, but that’s every shooter with me.

To get anything other than lucky wins requires some serious time commitment.

I'll just have to disagree. Yes you need practice, but you don't have to devote ridiculous amounts of time to get decent. However, when you have limited time to play, you have go to higher population areas and make a conscious decision to practice something you want to get better at while accepting that most likely you're not going to win. Short term it may not feel as fun because you're dying a lot. Long term, however, you're getting far more practice than if you went to remote locations and went without seeing anyone for 10 minutes. Most won't do this because they aren't willing to die over and over to get better but it's what you have to do to get better.

This is true. You can spend 10-15 minutes sneaking, not get but maybe 1 kill, and get your ass kicked in the final circle by the people with 5+ kills a piece and a lot more situational practice, or you can only drop in named locations, die a lot trying, and eventually get better. Since my squad started to only drop in hot locations, we’ve seen our wins increase (although we are still losing a lot).

I use a wheel spin app on my phone to select our drop locations. Last night, the first place it landed on was Tilted. We wiped out 3 squads there and ended up winning the match. We’d have never thought that imaginable a month ago.

Never had a game like the one I just had. We are pretty decent usually get several wins a day, but me and my buddy were playing duos with a couple people waiting on us to squad up. So we pushed every person we saw basically trying to die. Ended up winning had 14 kills. Pushed 2 guys with nothing but clingers and stuck both of them on the run lol. Like 5 of my 14 were explosive kills.

I think he works and has worked more than you might think. Still, who wouldn't enjoy making that much money playing a game.

He works hard, that's for sure. He usually streams 10+ hours and then has to do additional content and edits for youtube, etc. Dude is making over a million a month right now. Right spot, right time, right talent.

And he’s got the Pewdiepie trait, be annoying as hell and young people will flock.

You watched him lately? About 3 or 4 months ago when things started blowing up he changed things up a bit. He's competitive and heated on occasion, but overall it's a positive channel and he tries to give kids a good image. He knows kids are a big part of his channel and he tries to put that to good use. Rarely swears any more. Preaches doing well in school and earning play time, listening to parents, etc. He's a good dude.

I’m not the greatest player. I’ve won a game or two but i had a game yesterday that i felt so accomplished without winning. I was playing 50v50 with a friend and he went to get loot outside of our base which we built up off the side of a cliff. No one had seen us yet as we built off the side of the cliff and we had a couple kills sniping from there. He got killed getting the loot and the guy came to dance over his dead body and I sniped him while he was dancing to vindicate my friend. Then I survived all the way until I was the last on my team and the other team had 17 left. I built up around myself off the cliff and waited until they found me and then used 3 clingers to kill myself and take out the structure so that it took down 3 players with me off the side of the cliff and laughed. Never felt so good after a loss.

Gonna be interesting to see how fortnite goes now that H1Z1 came out . Already played with a few people who said there deleting Fortnite .

Fortnite will be fine. H1Z1 was out well before fortnite on PC and Fortnite has the larger player base on there as well.

$100,000,000 is what Epic said they dropping on the competitive scene this year.

They are fine.

I saw that lol . I think fortnite will do really well competitively . But competitive play doesn’t make a game . Paladins is going great competitively but player base keeps shrinking
