Crazy isnt it? Recruiting rankings are incredibly subjective. Many of the recruiting experts / gurus who assign these ratings to players and teams have never even put on a jock strap. The determining factor between a 3* player and a 4* player can be .10 of a point. The same applies for team rankings.
I will say that final recruiting rankings, in general, do give a pretty good overview of the best recruiting classes.
Tennessee's issue has not been resources its been winning football games. Kids will only believe the "return to glory" story line so long. At some point you have to win and win consistently to recruit at that level.
Not that big of a challenge with the resources UT has.
Correct. We are low in terms of overall ranking versus the rest of the SEC... but... we have the 4th (I think) average highest recruit ranking. Quality over quantity. Some of the schools ahead of us have 10+ recruits but their classes aren't as good as ours.
I disagree...we've had resources a long time. Several schools have good resources. Resources alone are not enough. But we now have an accomplished coaching staff that can recruit, then train/develop talent and manage/coach games. That & a lot of effort/work puts us and keeps us in the top 10.
Spelling and/or pronouncing VOLS incorrectly high octane fuel for my ragemobile.
i've been working in ATL the past month or so, and i stopped in to an office depot to get some supplies one afternoon, and i was wearing my TN vest, and the check out girl was like "go voles!" and started to tell me how much of a fan she was cause her daddy was etc....
and all i could think is that if he let you say VOLS as VOLES, then he didn't raise you right, and i question his loyalty.
i gave her the "ok, riiiight..." and walked out in disgust.
True this. If a team is 8 for instance not much difference in them and say no. 2. The challenge is to be top 10 year in and year out.
