Hulu Live and blackouts and thoughts...

So you pay $85 + $45?

I only pay $120 a month for Spectrum and that includes internet, cable with HBO, Showtime, SEC, etc...

I’m still not sure this whole cord cutting thing is worth the hassle.
120 is a fantastic price.i paid over 200 for those same things with Comcast.

I now have AT&T fiber and I pay 80 for that but it's ridiculously fast (250mbs+ download speeds). So with that plus ps view it saves me good money.

It worked out cheaper for me by about $60 a month. Might not be the case in your area.

I think their point is it would be cheaper if they had more options, but the $85 internet IS the only option for them.

It's totally worth it for the savings.

I had Comcast internet+TV and now have fiber internet and Hulu+Live and I saved like $30-40.

Bingo

I get 100 Mbps of cable internet speed for $39.00/month, tax and all. So with Vue, that's $85 bucks/month for the whole deal. Cut my entertainment bill in half.

Yea I don’t think it’s for me. $30 or $40 just isn’t enough savings to make it worth it.

I'm a sports addict and the problem with cable TV was matching the sports channels I get on Sling or Vue for less than an arm and a leg. The cable systems require alot more capital to get all the sports tiers I have now. That's where they hook you. Man or women.

Do you have a separate antenna for your local stations?

Yes, I do, I'm about 45 miles from the broadcast towers. I have an outdoor antenna with a preamp and I get all they have to give from Columbus GA. About 20 stations, all in HD quality.

PS Vue has been very solid for me for nearly a year now. I even get the local Pittsburgh channels where I live. They just replaced Fox live tv with On Demand content only so that may throw a wrench in things come football season.

If I watched NFL PSVue might be problematic since I only get Fox on Demand as well. All depends on what they offer in your area. But all in all, I've been very pleased with PSVue.

Three years ago I dumped Comcast to experiment with this cord cutting thing, and I haven't gone back.

Between my desktop and an Android box for my TV I've managed to ween myself off of cable using Kodi and Mobdro I'm not missing a thing, and that includes Showtime and HBO. For sports I can't find on Kodi I use BatmanStreams and Strikezone.co which is excellent for baseball streams. Not for everybody but I've been very content with this setup.

I have Hulu live and love it. I get all the sports no local blackouts. It is about 10 seconds behind real time when watching sports that's my only complaint.

PSVue is about the same regarding blackouts. I have to watch for spoilers in the gameday threads.

I’ve been told the picture quality with the outdoor antenna is fantastic. True?

Go with PlayStation Vue OP. I’ve had it for a bit now and it’s great. I was able to watch every game and the quality was good even with my crappy internet.

Currently have Hulu live and love it. Don't think blackouts will be an issue.

Also I saw where someone mentioned the need for 25mbps for streaming. Not true. I run 10mbps and get no issues. It's all in your set up. FYI... Cable internet is garbage.

YouTube TV for me. All the local channels and ESPN, SEC network, FOX Sports for $40 month. I missed the $35/month deal. Picked YouTube TV over Hulu simply because of the Live TV format.

Anyone have experience with Hulu Live? Looks to be the answer to cutting the cord but worried about local sports being blacked out? Over all what are your thoughts?

6 months here never missed any game. Nice being able to stream to any device. Pay the extra for no commercials, worth it.

Then how are you doing it? Frankly, I haven't found anything more efficient than cable internet.

I'm not the person you replied to, but Fiber internet has a shorter response time in general than cable. I'd look into that for an internet-only option. That'd be the 'ping' when you're running a speed test.

Got it, thanks. Did a little research but it doesn't look like anything around my area.

Honestly, I don't think I can find anything that can beat cable. I tried Sling to watch a game on the SEC Network a couple years ago and it was complete crap. Loading all the time.

My cable bill through Comcast is around 130/month. If I choose only internet, it's around 80-90/month. These large cable companies basically have monopolies on our choices.
