Yeah, I don't blame Trump one bit for not going. He knew what would be there waiting for him. I'm no fan of Sanders, but I agree that she didn't deserve what she got.

CNN spent a lot of time last night debating the inappropriateness of this relatively unknown comedian. They had people who praised and defended SHS for being there and how she didn't react. They had people saying that it was a prime example of how and why the right has such a negative image of the "Hollywood Left". They had people pointing out that this comedian was no more crass and offensive than Trump and that the Trump supporters who act offended by the comedian are a little hypocritical.

Pretty fair and balanced discussion with the consensus conclusion being that the comedian went over the line. There was unanimous agreement that it helped the comedians career which some said was her only goal to begin with.

This isn't limited to the "right" at this point as people are waking up and seeing the hypocritical nonsense coming from Hollywood. It's easy for some Hollywood celeb to screech about gun control while safely living behind a gated community with armed guards patrolling the grounds.

In short, I'd say the people recognizing the hypocritical actions of "Hollywood" and eye rolling and uttering "GTFO" at what they say goes far beyond party loyalty.

Like SCV, you're now trying to justify the attacks last night. What was SHS supposed to do? Stand up and punch her in the mouth? Likely justified and certainly would have put a swift end to the nastiness going on, but she's way too classy for that.

This is the point where you can realize how ignorant and immature the concept of "it's okay because Trump did it first" comes into play.

I would say 99% of the populace can point to someone on the left and say "that's going to far, you're taking it over my line." Just as people could equally point to someone on the right who is taking it beyond the line they think is appropriate. There have always been those whose sole purpose seems to be to cross the line and see what happens. In today's world it is even more prevalent because everyone has a voice that is immediately heard by the masses.

2nd point: I'm in no way trying to justify what she said. I do however think that kind of tasteless nonsense is more palatable coming from a bad comedian than the President of the United States,

I'm sure most of America sees this as pretty despicable. Democrats should not be playing these kinds of games right now with midterms coming up.

A comedic roast has always been done in a manner of respect. Liberals have turned it into a pure hate fest.

I think it's funny that the same people that said "Trump never really wanted to be the President," now say that Trump colluded with the Russians to win the election. Why would he collude with the Russians to win an election that he didn't want to win? Which one is it, libs?

Trump, nor the Russians, felt he had any real chance. The objective was to harm Clinton in particular and the US in general. Trump was already laying the groundwork for why he lost...ie...rigged election, cheating DNC, millions of illegal voters.

The best case scenario for Trump (and the one he was hoping for) was an election close enough to cast doubt on its legitimacy, his brand name increased, and being the center of attention in as much chaos as possible.

Will you then point out the hypocrisy of the NRA? They are banning guns from their convention on May 4th when Pence is speaking. I thought their mantra was that we needed more guns to protect people. Are you just as outraged about their hypocrisy?

No more of a hate fest than what Trump engages in every day on Twitter with his petty insults and name calling. As I said earlier, he is the classic "can dish it out but can't take it" type of bully. He talks big but is a sensitive little snowflake at heart. His absence last night was pure gutlessness. What a coward.

Far be it from me to defend Luther, but in this case, I agree with him. Pointing out what the panel was discussing is not him trying to justify it. Certainly the people on the CNN panel arguing "it's no worse than Trump" were trying to justify it, but Luther actually pointed out there were other arguments as well.
