I’m saying over because of this. Under will transfer on their own volition. I’d say a handful more will be shown the door. I’ll say 8-10 total.

What was the average number of transfers from butch every year? Do you think there will be more than what butch had?

I don't think I said that, I think I said the team was full of soft quitters iirc. Now maybe I should have said the team had a lot of soft quitters. I guess that would have been more palatable. Pruitt says it and it's ok, Ron and a lot of you guys say that a lot of them will quit and it is ok..I say it and people jump all over me.

Ever thought maybe it’s how you say things, moreso than what you say?

Newest member of the vol family born 2 hours ago. My wife and I welcomed our 3rd (and last) child into the world. My first girl and I’m a wreck man.

Congrats!! All children are special, but having that little girl as the baby is going to melt all your hearts.

Pruitt isn't sold on JG yet, per multiple sources. THat's not to say he won't come around by this fall, but JG has work to do. It's going to be an open battle between JG and Chryst this August.

It's certainly possible. We have some guys who don't like to get hit, and Pruitt doesn't have much patience for that. And there are some guys who just won't have a spot. I get the sense the coaches would rather clear out the dead weight than drop them down the depth chart.

Just based on a gut guess, I’d say we had around 5-ish per year. Hendrix, Peterman, Hurd, Boulware, Cremer, Wharton, Helm, and Sheriron Jones (twice) are all names that jumped out at me. I think less will want to transfer under Pruitt as most of these saw through the salesman persona of Butch...or received verbal abuse.

Edit: that’s one helluva list. ⬆️

I wonder how sold they are on Chryst. I get not wanting to pull the trigger with JG yet, but if they’re hoping Chryst comes in in the summer and is clearly a head above JG, I think they may be disappointed.

Chryst will bring maturity, experience, and a body big enough to take hits to the table. Not sure he outshines JG anywhere else.

And consider this: I bet somewhere between 25-35% of the starters we saw on Saturday will be beat out by injured players returning or new blood. I can’t wait to see how this team progresses.

I believe the coaches expect Chryst to win the job. He's bigger, has more experience and Helton thinks he's a good fit with his system. Unless JG is considerably better head-to-head, I think Helton expects Chryst to start the season.

Overall, I think the two-deep will look a lot different this fall, as incoming players replace existing ones.

My big worry with Chryst is that we’ll see him do what he did at Stanford: play lights out in practice, win the starting job, and underwhelm on Saturdays.

If chryst were any good he would still be at Stanford. Dude couldn’t succeed with that offensive line and running back core. Sad

Yeah, that's a possibility. I don't remember watching Chryst play at Stanford. I just know that Helton wanted him here and I don't get the sense the coaches are confident in JG's maturity or leadership. But I do think it'll be an open competition, and all QBs will give it their best shot. I want them all to be good so we have options.

Pruitt is cool and all but he’ll realize here soon he’s got to build a winner. The kid looked a lot better than last year. If he goes with Chryst thinking he’s going to lead us to an East title we’re in for a bumpy ride. Competition/Pressure is fine or what not but he’s got to stop acting like NONE of the guys are good. Callaway is a flat out STUD at WR and should be one of the premier playmakers in the Country. Not a lot of WRs you would want over him physically and mentally as far as being a playmaker.

We don’t look bad on offense and will look much better with Bituli leading the charge.

The LBs were flying in on running plays. He won’t be missing those tackles if Tuttle is freeing him up like that. I think Kongbo still looks the same. Smh lol
