IDK why people are trying to rationalize or soften Pruitt's criticisms. He's not going to walk back his comments and he's not sorry he made them. He wanted the players to play better and he wanted fans to fill the stadium. He's going to continue to speak his mind and some people will like it and some won't. One way or the other, it will define his tenure here.
Saturday didn't change my expectations for the season. I think we'll see a different team this summer, and it'll be a better one.
The only thing it did is make 10% of the fanbase question whether or not they like the guy. Which is a useless thing to do. Especially considered this team is going to have to scratch and claw for a bowl game.
Ill tell you this: hes really getting the benefit of the doubt because Fulmer hired him. If he finished the poor recruiting effort off, made those comments, and was hired by Hamilton, Hart or Currie, the backlash wouldve been much more severe.

Thanks for the concern guys. The fall on a helmet bit wasnt too terribly far off actually.
Last night I went to a friends birthday party. *Everything after this point is my conjecture* Apparently at some point I decided that I had enough to drink and was ready to walk back to my place. At some point I either fell or a car hit me or something, because I hit my head, got knocked unconscious, had a nose bleed, and was vomiting. Someone called an ambulance, but left/ ran before the ambulance got there.
Im still a bit concussed and hurt all over. Waking up in a hospital dressed in a gown with a everything attached to you and then being taken for a CT scan when the last thing you remember was about 20 minutes after arriving at the party is scary.

Or he sent a clear message to that 10% how important their support is and how needed they will be to ensure the team successfully scratches and claws for a bowl game.
I honestly don't know why anybody cares. We have been through 10+ years of substandard football and some bad to terrible coaching. This about #987 out of 1000 things that are wrong.
Whether car salesman Jones is on the mic making everybody feel good, Dooley is looking for Rommel, Kiffin calling out opposing coaches or Pruitt casting shade on players then some of the fans shouldn't (and I think in time won't) matter. His legacy is not gonna be what he said or didn't say that made everybody mad or happy. If he doesn't succeed it may make him less likable but who gives a crap, he didn't fix it. If he does succeed, nobody should or will care that he speaks his mind.
EVERYONE wanted an actual football coach. We got one. Along with that we get an actual football coach's mentality. One that desires winning over anything else. I'm all for this.
The comment from Pruitt that stood out the most. Is when he said in the fall we will have guys back from the injury list and all the new comers.
This year is like no other year i can remember where realistically 10 different spots may be taken from the ones who started the spring game. This team will be way different come September vs what we have seen so far.
No question about it. Bituli, DKjr, Trey, Calbert, Hall, Jennings, JJ Peterson, JUCO OL, JUCO TE, Grad transfer RB, QB, CB...
One thing that stood out to me in watching the game -- it was really weird seeing passes being caught across the middle. Several middle-of-the-field passes. I'm really excited to see our passing game when we have a healthy OL.
I don't need a politician for a coach.
Some do. And thats why Jones resonated well until the talk wore off and most everybody realized he was just a salesman. I personally didn't care what he said or Pruitt either for that matter. Where is your product.
