No Longer a Joke: Killings at Waffle House

I'm on record as believing that 13 million assault style weapons in circulation is far better than 18 million assault style weapons in circulation.

What does style have to do with anything? Besides, we all know that if you were successful in banning AR-15s you would just go after whatever firearm the next maniac uses.

Don't think so, I seem to remember this coming up in the late 80's early 90's. Back in the day before ridiculous fine print when companies did rewards coupons. I can't remember who it was (Pepsi point, camel cash, or Marlboro miles) advertised as a joke for something like 50,000,000 points you could buy a F16.It was never ment as a serious offer, but they didn't say it wasn't either. What ever company it was allowed you to pay cash for points if you were a few short, something like .05 per. Some millionaire went to them and offered them the cash value for the obscene amount of points and demanded the jet. I remember the federal government has to step in and let the company of the hook, by saying it was illegal to sell the f16 to a civilian. Something about the sale of t/s tech to non military buyer being illegal. That's why you see the older warbirds in private collections (everything onboard declassified) but not current stuff.

It was Pepsi points and a Harrier jet. They did have to wind up compensating him because the commercial was the equivalent of an offer.

They have to convince people these guessed at bull**** made up terms have some legal standing.

Something Luther is ignoring, this is ANOTHER situation where the shooter wasn't supposed to posses a firearm, ANOTHER situation where existing laws and regulations failed. What on earth makes you think more laws and regulations will succeed?

dang, this is messed up. not shocked it instantly devolved into a gun argument. sounds like the guy was pretty messed up and the government screwed the pooch again.

I can't believe law officers haven't caught this crazy person yet.

Rain wind cold ..... out in the woods all day (Sunday) & night w/no shelter or food or water.

Dude must have a bunker dug down in the ground & is covered up w/leaves & dirt.

This crazy dude must have super-human abilities to live on berries & snakes.

I asked Luther earlier.... If the dude shot up the place with a Smith and Wesson .38 revolver and killed four people, would you want to ban those as well?

I'm starting to think he may have killed himself

They would start calling them Saturday Night Specials again and go after them. Really who needs a gun for Saturday night?

Two things:

First - the laws were to lax, the confiscated guns should have never been given to the dad, they should have been destroyed.

Second - we have no way of ever knowing how many of these types of attacks the current laws have kept from happening. Just because a law does not stop every action in no way means that it did not stop any. Very critical point that is often conveniently overlooked.

Any every new law you are proposing would be exactly the same. Let's try enforcing the draconian laws already on the books before we implement new ones.

He also was penned in a 2 square mile wooded area separated by heavily traveled roads. No way he should have been allowed outside of this area. Major failure by law enforcement.

At the federal level the I think the law looks to only expressly prohibit dispensing a weapon to someone that's been "officially" stated to be mentally defective. In IL where this guy is from the state law also includes:

"Sells or gives any firearms to any person who is a person with an intellectual disability."

I'm under the impression that would be a pretty easy thing to prosecute in this case.

And your true colors come out again. You’re 100% for total confiscation. You’re just playing a long game on it.

Over time I’m sure there will be a need to “ temporarily” take each of our weapons. Nope we’ll just destroy these whoops.

So why do we need more laws if you don't know how efficient the current ones are? Right now they seem incredibly efficient. something like 99.999% efficient based on the number of these scary guns out there waiting to kill.

again this is a case of the people failing, the laws are already there, people upholding them failed. if you just add more laws you aren't going to increase the efficacy but instead are just introducing more ways they will get stuff wrong.

Russian hookers are the most beautiful. At least according to Trump's good buddy.
When I was flying to Moscow a lot, I went to this bar called Night Flight. I am not at all interested in hooker bars, especially since you usually pay a cover charge to look at women you aren't going to touch, and lots of money for watered down drinks. I am sure Dink will be along any moment to tell me that I must be gay or something like that, but Id rather spend my money in more productive ways. Anyway, this particular place in Moscow is well known among out of town businessmen, and my crew wanted to go so I reluctantly went along. After eating an $18 salad at the adjoining restaurant, we got in sans cover charge. Your first statement was spot on accurate. They ARE the most beautiful in the world. It was wall to wall super models. And you too can have one for $1000/night.
