I keep seeing in the rumor mill that as many as 10 players could be leaving in May following the semester. Welcome to the wonderful world of Vols' football.

I do wonder how many players aren't going to be able to adapt to the culture change and play with the fire and intensity the new staff expects. It's only been a few months so you have to believe more will come around, but the coaches are clearly fed up with some of them.

One concern I have is Pruitt riding these guys so hard that eventually a lot of these guys just kind of start tuning him out. Doesn't appear as if we have a lockeroom full of dogs/competitors. We'll see.

There’s going to be a lot of spots taken come fall so it’s really not surprising. Think about it like this.

-Kirkland, Bituli, and Jennings are gonna take someone’s spot based on health alone.
-Chryst is either gonna be QB1 or QB2 so Someone will leave.
-Some of the grad transfers will take spots so we could lose RB, CB, K.
-JJ Peterson is going to play early and often so he’s going to be taking a spot.

One thing I think that has contributed to the Vols predicament is that we wait too long to get rid of coaches. Dooley was fired one year too late. He wanted out the prior year and Hart wouldn't ponie up with the buyout. Butch wanted out after the 2016 season and nobody wanted him and we weren't paying his buyout either. Neither was fully invested in the program their last years. Should have parted ways with them a year earlier. If a coach isn't in 100%, it's a recipe for disaster. Our AD has written the book on what not to do.

If any of us think that AD Phil Fulmer is going to let the UT football program go down on his watch as AD, then you're crazy.

I would say that just as Pruitt warmed up more to the media throughout spring practice that Pruitt will mellow with some of his comments going forward. It's been said numerous times already, but if Pruitt wins, no one will care if he's nice or not.

I believe Phil will be perfect to work with CJP and his public persona.

If health permits, to add a few more names, hopefully Chance Hall and Trey Smith will be full go. And maybe Jahmir Johnson pushes for pt on the OL.

Dominick woods Anderson will potentially make a push at TE.

Im not sure what they will do with TKjr. He doesn't have the speed to play S in the sec imo.

If everyone mentioned is ready this fall this will potentially be a totally different looking team....hopefully for the better

Exactly so basically come fall by health or new comers we’re adding starting or 2 deep caliber:

3 LBs
WR
2 RB
QB
2-4 OL
CB (maybe multiple)
K
TE

Maybe you and I have different definitions for what a dork is lol

At the end of the day these guys are coaching “amateurs” who play a game.

Let’s not pretend like they’re deconstructing an atomic bomb destined to blow in 15 seconds.

We can have a little fun - guys like Saban and Pruitt who act like they’re getting root canals when asked softball questions by the media are just as dorky as the guys who act like everything is rainbows and butterflies.

Or maybe they’re super serious about their career. I get like that when associates under me ask stupid softball questions. I guess I’m a dork too

Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't the grad transfers here for only one season? If so, then why would some younger player leave knowing the Grad T will be gone anyway after a year?

We held on to Kiffin a year too long as well.

After re-watching the game.....Shanon Reid had a nice game. Couple of nice solo tackles and showed his athleticism with a nice INT in the last min of the game

Anyone throwing numbers out is guessing.

We are gonna have some players leave. Always happens when there is a culture change.
