Nobody cares about fan attendance at a spring game. Good lord. Just win football games and everything will be alright. Fans are going to be there in the Fall. You know ... when the actual games that have actual results are played? I can't believe anyone would be throwing shade at the loyalty of THIS fanbase. I mean ... really? But fans and attendance don't win football games. Good coaching does. So do player development and player discipline. He makes the money, not the fans.

Hell we ran off a coach just for him to even get a chance to get the job at all. lmao

Maybe you like Butch Jones here. Where we throw footballs at garbage cans and play music. Pruitt has to change the culture here first. He wants football players. I dont care if he yells as long as he wins football games. Someone needs to light a fire under the Tennessee football players. This losing has gone on for too long.

Those campaigning for Pruitt’s comments are the same ones who labeled Dooloser as Neyland incarnate.

The hypocrisy is astounding.

WTH is Pruitt complaining about? 65,000 for a team that was 0-8 in the SEC last season. He should have been ecstatic with the turnout.

fans aside - it sounds like Pruitt is going to run off some guys to make room for his own new recruits and more scholarships - its flirting with disaster though, the way the depth is right now

Im not having trouble saying anything. Again it was stated that Pruitt is a nc winning coach. There are 4 and CJP aint one. You can disagree if you wish to be wrong. Fine by me.
If you want to discuss coaching trees and its effect we can do that as well. Most coaches coming from Sabans tree dont end up as good head coaches. Couple that with the fact that it doesnt appear to matter who is coaching under saban, he continues to win.
Now saying CJP winning at FSU could add more validity to JP case as a good coach, but i dont see anyone arguing that he isnt a solid coach. I would argue that recruiting had more to do with both of those nc (fsu and bamas last) ad FSU doesnt win with crab legs and bama doesnt win without saban and the nfl level talent at ever spot. That makes coaching alot easier.
We should see what JP is capable of in two years. Until then we dont know ajd saying he is an nc winning coach is nothing more than fluff. But i would caution him with a fanbases that is fed up with bs, if you are going to talk like saban, you betterbwin like him.

Incorrect .. I’ve never said anything like that . I’ll give you another example since avoiding answering questions about Coach Cutt deserving his Natty ring goes unanswered . Nick hired lane as the offensive coordinator for Alabama , did he earn his ?

Much ado IMO. From both sides.

UT has been in football Hades for a decade +, a 50k+ showing after the worst season in school history is a respectable #.

Nobody will give a rats azz (including Pruitt) if it gets fixed.

It's nice to think that a massive turnout would swing a player or 2 but your probably not gonna see a return on that until we play some really football in a few months.

What CJP said was fair. He challenged the ones that consider themselves Vol fans to be at the O&W Game. Many that could have been there to fil the stadium weren't. He was asked about fan attendance and told it like it was. It sounds like some are offended that the HC was calling out fans for not showing up. Next time show up and he won't call any fans out for not showing up.

For the record CJP is not a NC winning Head Coach, he is a NC winning coach. Only because he was a coach for teams that won a NC(Is 5 the #?).

Fans waiting for the Vols to win before they "go all in" with their support is what bandwagon fan means.

A fair weather fan won't show up during tough times either.

Bro, Tennessee does not have bandwagon fans anymore. If thats the train you want to ride, have at it. Theres plenty of space cause you are the only one. We on vn cant agree on much, but one thing we can agree on is, if you are on an vols fan site claiming yo be a vols fan after the last decade....you aint a bandwagon fan. And attendence at a spring game has zero influence on that.

Waiting for the real season to start. Really looking forward to it. It was good to see regular scoring back in the spring game. From what I saw, a lot of work needs to be done and there is plenty of time to tighten it up. And, that's on all the coaches. All...the....coaches. And, that is where Pruitt needs to shine. Many or most, will say defense wins games. Great execution on offense and defense wins games. Pruitt doesn't need to worry about the fan base right now as much as he needs to drill in execution to his coaches and players. From all the taking heads, expectations are low for this team. I hope we field a team that will blow those expectations off the planet.

You are saying there are only 4 head coaches with natties . I said JP is a coach that has been in and contributed to winning nattys by doing exactly what he was hired by the best head coaches to do . But doing his job he earned 5 rings . We can talk somatic all day but the fact remains he is carrying around more bling than any coach we’ve had here .

Now you’re mincing words. You obviously discount anybody not the HC. No one has said he’s won anything AS A HC. He has won NC’s...as a coordinator. No championship HC in the history of football has served as every coach on his own staff.
