Pruitt not happy with Spring Game attendance

Yeah lets start sh*tting on the coach and then start crying and b*tching because he hasn't done what Saban done to this point. Give the guy a shot and remember the hole that he is trying to dig this program out of. There is a difference in being a hot head and being honest.

I think the main point is, if you are going to talk like saban you better win like saban. If he wins he will be fine. If he doesn't, its crap that this that will bite him in the rear just like it did the last two clown.

From all i have heard, the players performed like crap, so maybe cjp should worry more about his teams excuses rather than the fans.

No reason there weren’t more fans there. He should be pissed

Yes there are reasons. Its called years of bad to mediocre football. No offense to Pruitt but fans are tired of getting hyped behind a guy prematurely only to be let down. He's going to have to show he can coach well before this beaten fanbase finally gets back at its top potential.

I forgot when Saban got started by being the nice guy led him to be who he is. And he did go after the players that he was dealt, if you wanted to keep reading instead licking your wounds because one sentence hurt your feelings

Bro, you can argue it until the internet runs out of space and exactly zero record books will be changed and none of them consider pruitt a nc winning coach. Your opinion has no influence on fact.

Ill also help out with the question i asked. Of all the Saban assistants to be head coaches the overwhelming majority dont turn out well. Kirby is the only one in the conversation of top teir right now.

And you can minimize the effects that Coordinators have on teams all day long and try to say that only head coaches win nattys but like I said before we have a head coach now that can get up everyday of his life and put on 5 rings that argue that point . That I believe is 4 more than we’ve ever had before coaching us now .. we should be beyond excited with those FACTS and not be so offended when he calls it like he sees it . We spend everyday on here arguing about how we suck and our coaches have sucked for years . We have a different kind of coach now that I don’t think knows how to be PC , I think he just knows what things should be like and we aren’t there yet .

Folks want to act like Pruitt made Saban. I just dont get it.

Kirby certainly had no issue letting him walk.

I'm all for giving him the benefit of doubt with the results this year but his complaining about the fans right off the bat is asinine on his part.

He's lucky he got what he did to show up given what this program has been the past decade plus.

Jeremy Pruitt leaving UGA, and Kirby Smart let him go

Feeling not hurt and not licking any wounds, but if it makes you feel better then rock out bud. Again i came on to read about the performance of the team since inwas not able to watch. And all ive seen leads me to believe a bad product was fielded and Pruitt bad mouthed the fans. Sounds like a good combination.

If you would like to highlight some positves for players id love to discuss that. All ive seen is we are fired up cause kongbo got a touch sack.

I'm thinking this applies to pretty much all of the people who are butthurt about Pruitt's comments.

It pissed me off and I live 700 hundred miles away and had to work. Pruitt sounded a lot like Dooley today throwing everyone under the bus and taking none of the blame. I like Pruitt but it wasn't possible for me to attend make all the assumptions you want.

Other than he took away the fan day portion of the game. Autographs, meeting players and coaches, etc. no real incentive other than to watch a scrimmage by a team that's obviously not good because he hasn't had a good thing to say about UT since hes been here. Im guessing the sad reality is we just suck and he aint gonna sugar coat it.

Butch said it best and Pruitt is now seeing it firsthand. The negativity is overwhelming

What negativity? From a handful of nancies on a message board? 50k or 60k, whatever the number was today at the intrasquad game...nothing negative about it. Good and bad throughout Spring practice, good and bad today. Relatively speaking, there is no negativity right now, everybody has a clean slate.

As for Lyle’s comment....he created every damn bit of the “negativity” he got from Tennessee fans, period. Every bit of it.

If you actually read his comments, he wasn’t talking about you. So you’re pissed of your own volition.

I thought there were quite a few there for a spring game. What was the attendance? I am shocked. (Just got back)

Well stated. The fans will be there in force when it matters. And if he puts a good product on the field it will be rabid again.

Until that happens he needs to worry about what he can control. Not the past regimes and not the mindset of the fan base.

Many saban assisants can wake up and put rings on. Doesnt mean they are considered nc winning coached (as we both know they are not but im the only one that will admit it.) And it also doesnt mean it will translate to success as a head coach, as it has yet to for any of them except possibly one and his sample size is so small you cant make a judgement yet. So if your hope for the future is based on accolade earned under Nick Saban, the odds are not in your favor.

How about Pruitt actually prove himself as something other than Saban's prodigy before he spouts off about a fanbase who has been through hell and back the last ten years, k?

Florida State defense was a huge factor in their NC and the Bama D turned the tables against UGA...so yep.

Yeah, checking the record books.....

Still havent changed.

If you are attempting to prove CJP is a good DC....i agree. He has proven nothing as a head coach.

Five national championships as an assistant equals one national championship as a head coach. You didn’t hear? 😛

The new math?

Not arguing one side or the other but a DC on, not one but multiple NC winners whose Defenses were pretty dominant does deserve some respect, donchathink?

A silver tongue devil he's not, and some frustration after the underwhelming performance of a significant cadre of his roster today, is understandable. Indeed, laudable, rather than the kind of snake oil we've been spoon fed the last few years.

How about we don't trash him too much before he's shown what he can do after say half a season at least?

I believe what you are having trouble saying is that JP was mentored by some of the best coaches in college football . Now we both know that does lend itself to a great HC future , but I’d say that if you are trained by the best , proven over the years that you learned , soaked up , then applied that knowledge to do what you were hired to do and that is help win nattys for your team you earned those rings just as much as your HC . Wouldn’t you agree ?
