'19 GA OL Wanya Morris (Tennessee signee)

like that's brand new information...'we need better players'.

we're not going to hang with the GA's and Bama's of the world right now anyway.

it may actually take 2-3 years. not 6 months. and what if we sign a top 12 class? fire him? not good enough? puhlease.

so you can bemoan the potential loss of one recruit as "not gonna get it done" all you want, at the end of the day, it doesn't change the fact we are where we are, and no matter who we sign in this class, isn't going to change it for this season, and maybe not even next.

That ignore feature is really nice.

If we're not recruiting on the same level as Alabama and Georgia, we're not going to be able to compete with them. Those two programs are coached as well as ours will be, so if our players aren't on par with their players, good luck. In order to do that, we'll need to be stacking top ten classes on top of one another. To answer your question on Pruit, there probably aren't many people on this board who are more confident in him going forward than myself. Don't really see where you're getting that I'm "bemoaning."

It just might take the staff more than 5 months to get there.

The critical thing to the final outcome is that our staff gets the most out of the players...regardless of the talent level of the players. If they do, more will come. If they don't, they won't. If they are constantly getting more from less, the talent will steadily improve. Expecting that we are going to recruit like Bama without first proving anything is kinda silly.

Kirby had a big advantage over us. Despite the whining from UGA fans, Richt left talent stacked like cordwood, so he had a bunch to work with. A decent roster, coupled with rumors of them greatly upping their bagman game, plus the fact that Georgia has stupid amounts of talent to draw from, enabled them to quickly recruit at Bama's level. We ain't there.

I think it's more likely that Pruitt's path looks more like Spurrier at USCjr. Overperform. Recruit better. Overperform more. Recruit better still.

Have patience and celebrate improvement. We don't need to beat Bama, UGA, and Auburn...yet...we need to beat UK, Vandy, and Mizzou.

Anything less than a top ten class isn't going to cut it. The homers can spin it however they'd like, but at the end of the day, we're not going to hang with the Georgia's and Alabama's of the world if our players aren't as good.

one guy committing on May 1st is not going to make OR break this class. Let's just tap the breaks on the guns in the mouths emojis. Ain't no freak out like a Vol Nation freak out.

And that is the same thing the posipumpers will say after every miss..missing Morris is a big freaking hairy deal if it happens...I would never bet against the Barn bagmen.

Agree. Seems like every big time recruit we miss out on, the same excuses pop up. Oh well this one miss wont make or break the class. We werent recruiting him as hard. Wasnt high on our board anymore.

I think some people just dont want to face the fact that our staff, full of elite recruiters, are not pulling the elite guys like some thought they would.

I don't blame the staff..don't mistake what I said for that. If these guys can't recruit here, then nobody can because the program has been nuked into radioactive ashes by the last 15 years of complete top to bottom ineptitude at the University.

Bro it's been 3 f*#"#"g months like what do u really want them to do?It's crazy to me how much some fans expect, especially after the last decade and the debacle of a coaching hire etc...

That is not what I'm saying. It will be a big deal to miss on Morris if he goes to AU, that is a fact, pretending it wouldn't be is asinine. Every elite recruit we miss on is a huge setback due to our already depleted roster.

Nobody disagrees that we have to get more elite level players. No one.

But some don't want to face the fact this staff has been together 5 months and has nerry a game under their belt as a staff to say "see, this is you".

And they still got this last class a more than 20 spot bump in the rankings in about 7 weeks on the job selling only vision, playing time and their reputation.

Recruiting has been a disappointment up until this point. We have to get guys like this on the norm if we're going to get back to the top.

You dont know me very well. I am not one who has high expectations for this staff. Quite the opposite. I feel that 6 wins this year and maybe 7 next year would be great. How is that expecting a lot?

When it comes to recruiting? You can use its only been 3 months all you want, but we are 11th in the SEC right now. Georgia and Bama are killing it like always. UF and UK are out recruiting us. Yes I realize its April, but that excuse will not work like before because of the early signing period. Facts are facts.

I believe after this season, Pruitt and his staff will start to bring in elite players. But coming off an the worst season in school history usually doesnt attract elite recruits like a magnet.

I don’t see these people screaming “no big deal” that you do. Maybe you’re just assuming that because you can’t hear the calm reasoning beyond the din of your own noise. Missing on Morris would be a downer...not a program killer. Good OL coaching gives future prospects something to want to be a part of...and you START with what you have. Only way is up. I’m not sure what alternative approach you’re presenting. :hmm:
