It’s no different than getting autographs from kids that play for a random A$$ high school football program imo. I literally cannot see a difference here, both are unpaid students lol.

well, you're just not making the attempt. and it's been said several times the last few pages...it's not about the players.

it's about the kids that get excited about it. alomst everyone responding has said, that as an adult, they find it fairly pointless, self included. so on that level, there's agreement.

so either you probably don't have kids, or it may have been a while since you've been one.

either way, your inability to see the point others are making is a your issue, not the 'autograph' issue.

inb4 'whatever, it's pointless'.

It’s about the kids!
It’s about the kids!
These kids need these autographs!
How are these kids gonna get ahead in life without these autographs?
These kids will never be able to have fun again

Cool story bro...

After the 1994 UT-USC game in Columbia, my 13-year old self happily took my ticket stub, pen in hand, to get autographs as the players were walking to the bus. Wearing my Heath jersey, I was able to procur Peyton’s signature among a few others. Walking back to the car after this event, we happen to notice Archie and Olivia having a conversation with someone in the empty parking lot near the stadium. We stood by a minute or two hoping I could get Archie’s autograph as well, but not wanting to interrupt we started to venture on. Much to my surprise, I hear a lady’s voice calling me back “Hey, #21! Do you want Archie’s autograph?” I turned around to see Olivia motioning me over and directing Archie to sign my ticket stub. He did saying “Can I write over Peyton’s signature?” My family and I ended up talking with Archie and Olivia several more minutes.

Moral of the story? The autograph was only a means to real interaction and conversation...but I still have that ticket stub.

Who will these kids have to look up to?

I can’t imagine living in a world where my 13 year old baby boy can’t stand in line for 3 hours to get an autograph from an 18 year old that plays backup snapper at UT!

I have an idea, take your kids down to the local VFW and get some Vietnam veterans to sign their autographs for them. It would make a vets day, and your kids would be getting an autograph from a real life hero

that's a fantastic idea...seriously. and from that perspective, of course a college football player's autograph isn't important.

just don't insinuate that the two are even close to being equal. they're not, and not remotely close to being related, in any way, shape or form. in real life, or as it pertains to where this conversation originated...
