Let’s be honest, autographs are lame anyway.

Pictures with players/Smokey and your kids are great, but I agree about autographs.

They are having something in August after practice. I like that Pruitt wants a real game atmosphere.

I have Reggie White's autograph on the inside front cover of a Bible I got at FCA camp and it's pretty cool.

No, I wouldn't pay for an autograph now.

Speaking of destroying Georgia linemen.
Is it bad of me to want a certain former Knox high schooler who’s now a freshman olineman at UGA to have his leg ripped off and face crushed by Tuttle.

No, I’m not over the WAY he spoke about UT.

It wouldn’t be by Tuttle. Unless UGA moves him to OG.

This is probably already known, but here's an article about the SEC blocking Saban from hiring Freeze as Co-OC.

Nick Saban reportedly wanted to hire Hugh Freeze, but couldn'''t

Alabama was one of at least five SEC schools that had contact with Freeze about on-field jobs this offseason. Saban wanted to hire Freeze as a co-offensive coordinator and position coach, sources told AL.com.

However, SEC commissioner Greg Sankey encouraged Alabama not to hire a man as well known for the personal shortcomings that led to his Ole Miss resignation as he is for his success as a coach.

Autographs are a super lame distraction imo. Remember, this stupid trivial crap takes away from time in the film room or on the field. Pruitt needs to win games now, screw the other BS. Let him sign your baby’s forehead when he wins the east. Until then, just win.

Lol.

You do realize the autograph thing was done during the glory years of WINNING?

It’s still lame, and a waste of time imo

We suck A$$ at football, no one deserves to be handing out autographs after losing every SEC game last year.

It's not a they deserve it. It's memories for young fans to interact with the players of the team they root for. Pay attention many posters are posting their memories which is what the autograph signing is all about

some grouchy folks this morning.

we're going, and my kids would love the autograph session if they were having it. they're not, no biggie. i couldn't care less about it, except for the fact i know my kids would get a kick out of it.

i remember two years ago, we stayed at the Crown Plaza for the FL game, and we were getting off the Elevator and she saw a line of guys wearing TN sweat suits and my 9 year old was like "wow, look at those guys, who are they?" and i said, "that's the football team".

she looked up at me with the widest eyes ever "holy cow!".

so yeah, autographs are lame.

just don't forget who they're really supposed to be for. my kids didn't care what the record was, they were in it for the experience. just like i was when i was a little kid.

so relax.

I agree that autographs are lame for adults or anybody who buys/sells the autographs. But for kids getting to meet the players and get the autograph it's cool.

If I had a Tennessee man cave and lived in Knoxville I’d have it covered in signed items. Not sure why some are disparaging it

I’m sorry if that seems rude or mean. It’s just honestly how I feel at the moment. Football and the weight room should be the only thing our team is worried about right now. We have a brutal schedule this year, and if Pruitt believes getting rid of all distractions will help us win then I hope he does it. I see no point in having the worst team in SEC sitting and signing autographs at any point this year lol...

Yeah, I’m wanting to take my 3 year old son to meet the players, but VN thinks it’s lame

I don't have a problem with it other than the dealers who ruin it for everyone. I liked getting them as a kid but that's because of the experience of meeting them. I don't understand buying an autograph though. Seems weird to me. Spending money and not getting the experience is not for me. Just my opinion though.

Wish I could be glamoured by them and not care what their record is

rude or mean? hm.

misguided, disingenuous, maybe...

i'll put it this way, if signing autographs is at or near the top of your list of distractions that could derail the season...........well, i'd say you need to re do your list.

Ah, just because my opinion is different than your opinion doesn’t mean that I’m wrong or misguided. If I were the coach we wouldn’t be rewarding the players by making them feel like stars handing out autographs after losing every conference game the year before. The whole idea of it seems ridiculous to me

who said it's for the players?

Women be at the top of that list

I would have liked to have seen that hit that Eddie Moore put on the Florida wide receiver that knocked him out cold but still a great video

Love when people pull out the “only thing players should be focusing on is football and the weight room” argument.

My favorite.
