I'd bet a lot of Reps under some circumstances would vote for Jim Webb - as either a Dim or a Rep simply because he's not much like the rest of them (on either side). I've never found most Reps to be as entrenched as the old yellow dog democrats, but you are right with the hard core it's always more about labels than people.

From the first time that Trump was ever mentioned as someone who might run for president, I swore I'd never vote for him ... then his opponent was Hiliary and compounded by 8 years of Obama.

I think it's a duty to vote but as I stated elsewhere I didn't because the bad choices were close although Trump, in my view, is a far bigger, scumbag than Hillary.

Let me see if I understand, you voted for Trump, the Republicans have double crossed both of us by doing a ton of stuff including doing things for which Obama drew Republican ire and especially for increasing the deficit which of course this Tax Plan is going to do "bigly"

I guess we'll have to wait until the results are in to see what the claims are - seems like most times they claim tax revenue rose after a tax cut, but if you've ever read my jaded comments about statistics and government accounting ... However, with all the programs that have been put in place from Roosevelt on, I have a feeling you could actually close the government - all of it - and still not be able to balance the budget because of all the spending programs, entanglements, debt and so on previously in place. Just budget busting bombs kicked down the road.

Biggest mistake the Dems could make is to run Hillary again. I hope to hell that isn't the case. She couldn't protect state secrets as the SoS, why would it be expected of her as POTUS? Dems need to find new blood. Preferably someone intelligent, with absolutely no ties to the Clintons.

Has it been established he "hates" Muslims and the LGBT community, or just that he disagrees with it? You can disagree with a lifestyle or a religion and not hate those who practice it. But of course, many want to scream hate because it's more convenient than understanding.

He can totally practice it. But when it interferes with his ability to protect and respect ALL Americans equally then he has no business in public office for SOS. He doesn't get to hide behind his Bible then govern based on his hatred of Muslims and gay dudes.

So what is he going to do as Sec State that would affect gay males? If he sides against Muslims because the hates them is he siding with gay males because Muslims don't tolerate them? Some other positions you might have a point; this one looks pretty stupid.
