Yeah I read it. Ironically, he grew up in Nashville. Butthurt abounds in Denver

Like a lot of southern people I'm starting to become a big fan of hockey, and I've noticed there's nothing "real" hockey fans like to talk about more than the original six and what real hockey towns are like

Scrimmage today was better than last weeks—particularly for JG. Starting D-Line unit continuing to look very good. Phillips was a standout player tonight. Sometimes the O-line is able to give the QB plenty of time to go through his progression; sometimes he is immediately swarmed by the D. DBs were hit or miss. Got in 140 plays during tonight’s session.

Anybody know where Phillips’ and Kongbo’s weight is at? I saw Tuttle is at 295 and am assuming he will work on gaining in the summer.

Agree. Clearly he was under utilized last season and is very talented. Creates good separation and has great hands.

Easily best receiver last year. But looks like he has competition for that honor this year. Which is a very good thing.

OL did well in pass protections.
Taylor started at CB
I thought JG missed 3 TDs on verts by over throwing.
McBride had his best day so far.
Sapp looked really good.
Coleman is gonna play a lot at RB.

From a poster on VQ who was at the scrimmage...

This will not be detailed by any means but just some quick notes from last night.

Noticed in warmups & scrimmage that there were a lot of drops by the receivers in general. What should have been routine catches were just plain ole drops! Calloway looked pretty good & consistent with his catches. Looked like Palmer and Johnson had their moments as well. Byrd was at WR. Had a wide open streak that he caught for a TD.

JG can put the ball on a dime from anywhere on the field most of the time. Pressured a lot but threw the ball away. McBride had a few good throws as well.

RB tried to hit it up in the middle but 80% of the time bounced to the outside (due to DL clogging up lanes) and Ty and Jordan had some good runs.

The OL struggled most of the night - and I completely understand this is a piecemeal unit right now.

The DL dominated the night and the LB's made plays up the middle and on the edge all night long.

The best part of the scrimmage, for me anyway, was seeing Alontae Taylor, Shamburger, Labruzza or whomever playing press coverage!! I am talking one yard, max two yards between CB and WR!! Played them tight all night long, forced them inside & off the boundary, and actually turned and looked for the ball!!

Special teams still need a lot of reps. No Circle of Life drills, nothing fancy, no music, no mics - just straight up mano y mano in all the drills and during the scrimmage. The coaches coached (loudly I might add!) from the start of the warmups and throughout the scrimmage.

Highly debatable on the best WR front. Callaway was underused criminally by the last staff. He in my opinion was far and away the best WR/playmaker on the team. Throw the man the ball and let him go to work.

Interesting to read that Coleman will be playing a lot. Paired with an earlier comment by someone, somewhere, that the staff really liked his size. It's a nice development, considering he was a virtual non factor last season.

Came in more highly rated than Jordan. Not that that is the end all be all, mind you. But Jordan looked really good at times, whereas I literally can't even remember Coleman getting on the field, and IIRC he only had like 9 rushing yards on the season or something.

I disagree with about 90% of that post fwiw

I agree with that post for the most part.

RBs couldn’t find anything up the middle because of front 7, but had some success when hitting the edges.

JG had some nice, long TD passes. Receivers didn’t drop too many balls. I thought McBride outplayed him last week, but this week JG showed better.

Not really a battle lol. For example, We went from double digit sacks to like 2. So I’m not gonna say the OL struggled most of the night.

There were more than two sacks on the night. Quite a few more, though some of them the QB had decided to tuck the ball, but still lost yardage/ would be tallied as a sack in a live game.

I thought JG missed a few but did play well. We have a lot of easy throws in our offense. One of his long TDS was an underthrown jumpball tho.
