I think Bumphus has to stick at TE. That position group is possibly the least talented on the roster, and it’s undersized overall.

Did you watch the press conference yesterday? Somebody asked him if he will use fullbacks and TE's much. He basically said he'll use whatever formation got the best personnel on the field. He also said we definitely don't even have a FB on the roster right now and he's not sure we have a TE yet either. He said if they can't block they're basically receivers and at that point he'd rather have a real receiver on the field. It was a pretty funny exchange. And something we probably already knew about our TE's. I think Helton can adapt his offense to our personnel this year and still be good, especially if DWA comes in as advertised. You can tell by those comments and the TE's we're after that our offense will probably evolve with the next couple of classes. Also, if any of the current TE's look like real TE's and are productive in the fall, then Niedermeyer would deserve some real credit.

Reading that article makes me scares that some unions are going to try an make a power moving into the university system

of particular interest to me were these two statements:

General Assembly has been making a concerted effort to reduce the number of lobbyists sitting on the state’s boards and commissions. I look forward to this newly confirmed board continuing the standard of excellence we expect from the University of Tennessee system."

"The surprise rejection of a handful of Haslam’s nominees to the Board affords him an opportunity to appoint people who represent core stakeholders in the UT system rather than more corporate operatives from his elite network,"

now, that last statement came from the UCW, so i get your consternation. and while i'm not a fan, cause after all, if the UCW starts getting people of their own, we're just trading one lobby group for another essentially, i am happy there's a check and balance applied.

Man I’m liking Pruitt more every day. Isn’t married to some infallible scheme, adjusts scheme to player/personnel strengths, speaks the truth. The guy is just a football coach.

This is the part that got me thinking the UCW is heading for a power move.
Working Tennesseans, more women and more people of color, students, and educators all also deserve a seat at the table of this state’s largest higher education system. If he doesn’t know anyone like that, we do.

We should all be in favor for the elimination of lobbyists from the board. Let's get some people who love the university and its influence outside of just athletics. New blood means less of a Haslam controlled cartel. If a member of UCW got approved, that would benefit all. I can't ever foresee a large enough amount of union presence on a board like that to ever truly tip the scales. Tennessee is not a state that is very supportive of unions, which has its pros and cons.
