Seems like they must like what they see on DL to experiment those on OL. I could just be a dumbass though

Well half the people are happier. At least a try was given.

True.
I don't much get into the who plays where or who gets the start, debates.
Don't even care, if it helps us win.

Just thought Byrd being such a great athlete, might do better switching back to defense.
But we have new offensive coaches too, he might still be okay. But not looking as promising as when he signed.

I’m anxious to see how many guys transfer out after spring practice. Could be more than normal based on how things are going. Seems some guys just don’t fit, etc (Byrd, Fant, etc.).

Fant’s been getting good reviews as that hybrid back. They had an athlete that didn’t fit, so they created his own position. They’re just kicking tires with him on D...same as Taylor.

Remember last year during fall camp Fulmer said the stand out to him was Bumphus. Said he would have him on the field some where (DL,TE,LB), that he's just a player.

Well.. maybe DL will get him on the field.

Crazy day of practice, huh?

I’d kind of been thinking one or two of the DL we signed in 2018 might get looks on the OL, but I assumed it would be guys like Garland or Harris, not the highest rated DL we have.

I kind of doubt all 3 of those guys stick at OL, though. Seems like too much borrowing against defensive depth if they all stay there. I could see Emerson and Crosby doing some nice things at OG, though (pains me to say it about Emerson, looking at the DL depth chart in 2019 and ahead, it’s hard to imagine us being very good up front without him there).

Bumphus to DE is a look some have been speculating for a while. I like his upside there, but it’s worrying for TE.

Trying Taylor out at corner makes sense with the WRs being a pleasant surprise thus far and CB being a mess.

Fant to LB is...um...interesting. I’m not necessarily surprised he didn’t stick at RB, but I figured they’d find a place for him on offense somewhere. He’s big for a RB, but will be one of our smaller backers initially at least.

I think staff is showing some of the HS roots here just find a way to get best players on field somehow instead of on the bench.

I have thought watching Taylor highlights he could be our best CB if he gave it a real shot. I also like him at WR but we are a lot better at WR than CB. Can still give AT a package on offense.

Crosby is one I wanted to see on OL coming into this year with his size.

Emerson and Butler shocked me but worth a look. I would think they move back to DL

Fant suprised me considering they liked him at Rb from reports

Byrd was good at WR as a freshman maybe he will get more chances with new staff or try harder. Or transfer.

Pruitt at the podium -

Lots of mental errors in the scrimmage. Some missed tackles, some turnovers.

Felt like the players practiced with a purpose today after watching scrimmage.

On the movements: After scrimmage we moved several guys to the other side of the ball. We lack depth on OL..made sense to have some guys move over and get them some work to see if they have foundation. Not a final switch. Trying to develop depth. Might be some points where you lose 5 guys at one position. Gotta find a way. Now is the time to do it. Seeing and evaluating.

On Bumphus: Played defense in HS. Wants to figure out who the best players are on the team. Wants the best players on the field, regardless. We don't want them playing positions for the first time in October.

Panic move today and hoping some of these changes are very short.

I don't care if Emerson and Taylor can help us this season on the other side of the ball when a few years down the road they can be All SEC type players at their best positions.

Can't stunt development to put lipstick on a pig.

🙄. So glad Fulmer hit that panic button a few times and turned de Witten to a TE and Rb Moore and westmoreland into all SEC lb. Ridiculous comment. We’re trying to get the best 22 on the field.

Probably just browse the recruit threads. We don't have a list by city, but the state is listed in each thread title.
