So we won 4 simply because of talent alone? Wouldn't that indicate that the talent isn't too hot? I think the talent on this team is middle of the road in this league personally.
That may be true but if we do have a bad season, I will go on record in predicting he will be on here telling everybody how he told us so. And even if it's not gloating about his team being bad it will certainly seem like it.![]()
Everyone is talking about talent. Even if you say we could have lost to UMass, was it because they had more talent? Heck no. We also should have beaten UF and UK. Play calling was disastrous.
Arguing that we could have gone 2-10 instead of 7-5 has no bearing on it. It's all about talent.
Even if we are in the middle of the league, we should still win 6-7 games this year. If the development of players is better, than we should beat the teams at the bottom.

Either Marcus saw something in his visit that made him believe we will overachieve or it's just the same ole same ole media hype so they can bash us when we don't reach these expectations
I would love to come out with 8 wins, but I think it's much more important for us to focus on playing entire football games at high intensity and actually finish the game at that same level. We got to get back to ground zero and build up from there.
CBJ was able to get us winning some games and even bowls but it was on the back of pure talent & a collection of individual efforts. For a healthy program, I have to see the coaching and development side, as well as the motivational aspect come out in the team before I am confident we have a good 2018, 2019, 2020, etc.
I'm at 6-7 wins but some real close, hard fought games against our rivals. Then the following year, the sky is the limit.

After Saturdays scrimmage, Tennessee took the practice field for the first time Tuesday and it was clearly a day of experimenting.
There were a slew of position changes today, including
WR Alontae Taylor to CB
DT Greg Emerson to OL
DL Matthew Butler to OT
DT Eric Crosby to OG
DB Tyler Byrd to WR
TE LaTrell Bumphus to DL
RB Princeton Fant to MLB
Coming out of the scrimmage, the move of Byrd back to WR doesnt come as a surprise. Neither does moving Bumphus back to defense.
The rest, namely the moves of Emerson and Butler, seem to be just giving the OL a look to see if something sticks or works.
Taylor is an explosive playmaker, but with the issues at CB, its not a shock that Tennessee would at least try him out there for the back-half of spring. Remember, Pruitt recruited him to Alabama as a CB.
Fants clearly looked confused at MLB, with former Vol linebacker Kevin Simon coaching him through every rep.
